Here comes the stretch......

I wouldn't worry too much about your being gone. A week is no big deal. When you're in flower there really isn't much to do as most of the training and stuff is done in the veg phase setting up for flower. You've already done that.

What I would do is give them a good watering right before you leave. This should leave only one watering that you might have to have someone come in and do for you before you get back. I'm assuming you're watering every 3 - 4 days?

The day you flip give them a good defoliation. I've noticed when I do it this way it seems the bud sites pop up quicker. I'm sure there is some sort of hormonal signalling thing going on that induces this but I can't tell you what that is. It's just an anectdotal observation on my part after a few tent runs.
Yea the stretch is gonna be crazy! Im excited lol im not too worried about any extra training or trimming or anything like that while im gone, really all im worried about is catching the perfect harvest time. If im gone then theres a chance i can miss that window by just a wee bit. Wouldnt be the end of the world, but id love to see it in person at its absolute peak lol

I have an automatic watering system set up now! With an outer and, as of today, an inner halo :) and its app controlled, and i measured the water flow already so i know exactly how much is gonna come out. Set up for an extremely slow watering over 70 minutes.

So im gonna have to wait until tomorrow for the final decision on whether or not to flip. The lights already turned on for the night so i didnt wanna interrupt. Super excited! Thanks for the advice :)

Im noticing little brown tips on a few leaves and then i noticed this today when i checked. It was only on this leaf, all the others seemed fine aside from some burnt tips. I havent added any nutrients at all, just been watering with distilled water. Any ideas what this could be? Maybe the roots reached a pocket of nutrients and it overloaded a little bit? The temps and humidity havent changed from normal, and i just flipped to flowering light schedule yesterday. I clipped this leaf off and those discolored parts were a little crunchy.

This looks exactly the same as when i thought those leaves had light burn, but this leaf is definitely not getting too much light, its at the bottom of the canopy. So that combined with burnt tips tells me probably nute burn. Any thoughts?

What did you feed them last time and how much? It could be a calmag deficiency since youre using distilled water. Or maybe any other mineral since distilled water doesnt contain any. Could also be a bit of K excess but I will have a better idea when I know how they ate.

I havent added any nutrients at all, this is purple cow indicanja soil, the website said dont add unless needed and just water with RO or distilled water. So it kinda sounds like i might need to grab a little calmag possibly? And i didnt see that on that leaf in the background when i was checking in person, i think that might be an illusion from the shadow and the camera picking it up weird, but now im gonna check it again when i get home today.

Thanks for the reply!

Is it this soil? If so, they recommend transplanting to new soil before flowering, might be the case that youre either running out of nutrients or it had too much K, which could be possible considering you had slight N toxicity and it comes at the same ratio with this soil. Thats for the yellow on the fron but if the one in the back is rusty like that and not the camera get a calmag yes. Or do you own since calmags have nitrogen. Get some epsom salts and eggshells if you wanna do it yourself without nitrogen. To make the calcium from the eggshells available:

I personally dont like "only water" soils. I do my super soil but most of the stuff I put in is gone after veg, then I top dress and/or use liquid organic nutes to push the plant. That way if something shows in my grow I know why it appeared since I know what I put in my soil and what Im feeding.
Those soils also shouldnt be use from seed but looking at your grow your plant was okay until now. She still okay but slight symptoms of something going on.
Also plants can be very different even from the same strain. Some dont take nutes too much even if they grow well, some take a lot, some something in between.

70°F-80°F is more than okay for your ladies during the vegetative stage. You can go as high as 90°F during this stage. Right now I'm growing my second round of Purple Punch running average temps of 85°F with average RH of 70% and she's been really happy. I wouldn't worry too much about getting temps down until you're in flower, but even then 70°F-80°F is still fine. At that point you'd just want to reduce your humidity to around 45%-50%.

Agreed. I usually run my grows at around 80° - 82° which lands me at around 77° leaf temp. I usually keep my humidity at 60% and drop it to 50% upon flip.

@mstrpkl

I'm seeing a cal/mag deficiency. If you let it go a little longer the edges will start to crisp up and the leaf will start to yellow in the middle.

Hell yea you guys are awesome! I unfortunately wont be able to get ahold of any calmag until monday. My ladys dad has chickens though and he lives right down the street. Might find a way to get some egg shells from him.

Thanks for the advice!

Alright so i went searching around and found a few things. I keep seeing conflicting info on the indicanja soil so i wanna get this straight asap.

So earlier in this thread @TheGoldenRoad said he grew with indicanja and it just needed a small amount of calmag. Maybe he can chime in and let us know if he had any problems or had to transplant.

I've grown in Indicanja before and at best, all it needed was a hair of CalMag. Your plant looks awesome. Good job ✌️

Also @AZreefer said he spoke with purple cow customer service directly about indicanja and they said roughly the same thing. Maybe he can hop in as well to share a little info because i cant remember if it was this thread or a different one where he was talkin about emailing them.

And then i went online just a bit ago and found some more info from someone else who messaged them as well, i have that info in the screenshot below. But basically this soil is supposed to be from seed to harvest, so im a little confused now.

@Eledin can you lead me to where you saw it recommend transplanting and recommending not starting a seed in it? I havent found anything about that anywhere iv looked, but i might just be missing it.

If what the guy in the screenshot says is true, i might be seeing nutrient deficiencies for 2 reasons.

#1 would be that i used a 5 gallon pot instead of the recommended 7 gallon, so maybe there just isnt quite as much nutes as there should be with a full sized pot.

#2 is i have had this plant in veg for about a week longer than recommended by the soil manufacturer. Roughly 7 weeks. So that could also be a factor in whats happening.

Any information is much appreciated!

The transplanting was a suggestion for a smaller pot than 7 gallons. With 5 gallons you will need to feed it with bloom and bloom booster for best results. The person I messaged at purple cow gave me a recipe for reusing the media for multiple grows as well as the suggestion that for the best results use the entire bag in a single pot.

In my current water only grow I'm adding cal mag and bloom and bloom booster, roots organic terp tea. This brand or one similar will compliment you soils biodiversity if you brew the tea as opposed to direct feed or top feed.

You could 100% benefit from a bio active bloom and bloom booster fertilizer. It's a great way to extend the active life of your media. (Or so I was told)

Sorry, I went to answer this after I smoked and got lost. I grow in 10 gallon pots and do not transplant since I'm growing autos (I do not recommend transplanting autos). I also keep the soil moist with little runoff as to not wash out everything in the soil. Bit of CalMag during flower. If you are thinking of transplanting a photo I would recommend following the instructions. I don't see how this soil could possibly last the entire cycle of a photo with just water. I hope this helps. ✌️

Here for the exact composition:
