Yeah. That’s true. I still try lol. Loooaaadddssss of microbes and LAB in my soil. As well as tons of teas…in flower I’m using a “all purpose” mix that’s like 4-7-4 and FF Cavern Culture mix of guanos and rock phosphate that’s 1-12-0…and recharge….ive heard it makes the flowers more flavorful…but who knows what’s real lol.

Ok! Very good question. In my case I would say experimenting. Trying new things like nft, organic, led lights, lucas formula, you name it I have tried it all. What it led me to was being confident enough in my gardening knowledge to stop buying half the snake oil in the grow store. Stay positive through your journey and you'll master it in no time. Wish you the best in your garden 👍

It’s all about controlling your micro climate, ensuring that your plants are fed correctly that the root zone gets plenty of air and that your nutrition is balanced for every stage of growth. learning to read your plants It’s a really really important one. It takes time and redundancy, but after a while, it’s like riding a bike.

Keeping it humble is the way to be, I feel that way, when things are on all 8 cylinders, life is def in that 7, 8, 9,

With all do respect, I gotta disagree. Everything I grow, every kind of plant, in every size container from less than a gallon tp 30 gallons.
The plant below was grown in a 3 gal pot with living soil. Next to it is a 30 gal pot. It was an afterthought. Found a magic bean in some weed so decided to germinate it. It didn't go outside until mid-late June. Zero effort put into it other than feeding and watering. And the feeding was really just what might be left over from feeding the other plants. The pic on the right is from Sept 16. Still managed to pull about 100 g from it and it is some of the best smoke from that season.

This wild flower is in 2 gal living soil. It was about 8" at transplant. She seems to be thriving, no?

The notion that you can't have a thriving rhizibiome in a smaller pot is just plain hokum IME.

Yeah. I use a lot of ferments and my own microbes/beneficials, and always have a web of mycelium growing in the soil…the top is almost spongy sometimes.

Let me know how that three gallon is doing on its 5th run with the same soil. You build 10 gallons or bigger so you can keep using the soil over and over.

I don't know about the whole idea of what took your grow from a 5 to 10 and with many people then internalizing that as grading themselves. For me two very important marks in my grow life was going to led lighting. After years and years of HPS/MH, ballaist, reflectors, enclosures, light ventilation, bulbs. The day I loaded up all that old lighting crap and hauled it to the scrap/recycling yard was the best! And the second was knowing I would more than likely live long enough and grow enough weed to see the breeders destroy it. Indicas don't make me drool and slurp and sativas don't make me see mild tracers and colors anymore. As growing becomes more fluid and harder I will more than likely slow down. It's slowly becoming not worth the time or the neutered high. I grow now for the most part because of the love/enjoyment of the grow. Not the finale product.

I am at low risk because all my seeds are 6+ years old and I don't bring anything new like clones in.

Besides, I'm old and retired and can't afford new soil.

@jamesmessenger1 If I could only pick one or two. Im going with correct watering practices relavent to ones medium. And second would be proper knowledge on light emissions and power usage of said lights while on plants : ) but also I dont have the experience to compare all the variables involved to decide what WOULD be the game changer, thats my take.

im at the number 2 level of the game(I say that confidently yet humbly also LOL) not headed above 4 or 5 AAANNNYYYY time soon😂 the only 10 im achieving is 10/10 stoned off my ass😆✌️

No science does not prove that. But some will believe a abacus is better than a digital calculator. Funny thing happened here. The city went and changed all the old lighting out at a local park and in our neighborhood. Out went the HPS/MH crap lighting and in with the new LED. Now they can't keep up with the mowing cause the grasses, weeds and wildflowers are growing 24/7. The city got so concerned about it they brought in the local ag extension office and asked them about it. They pointed at the LED's got in there trucks and left. One can clearly see where the grasses are thicker and taller under the LED's before they mow and brush hog. That never happened with the old lighting. Funny as hell.
