Christ this heatwave is nuts, been battling 110F+ and v low humidity since last Wednesday, should ease on Tuesday.

I would be scuppered without that a/c I tell you. As it is some larger than I'd like swings in the enviroment but will be ok. What doesn't kill 'em makes 'em stronger, right? πŸ˜‰

Insanely hot, dry air in the garage and then my lovely wife decides to put the dryer on (near the tent) to add yet more hot, dry air. Yikes!

Magic times! πŸ˜„

Water every day man!
Keep them drinking in that heat the transpiration will be off the charts.

Ok, a little update as the heat finally begins to subside (πŸ–•πŸ‘‹).

They were looking a little droopy I have to say when got back yesterday from anniversary night away (no kids, heaven but that's another story!) But after their first feed and some watering (and v slight defoliation here and there) looking much better today. They've really perked up and now hopefully back on track in to a milder, calmer range of temp/humidity. Leave them to it for a while... πŸ€—

Also topped the Blue-C Birdie on Saturday and it hasn't missed a beat...lol! πŸ’ͺ

From left to right, back row first:

Mephisto's Wedding - Blue-C Birdie - Froot Fuel F3

Magic Castle - Iced Latte - Twisted Gorilla

Also raised the lights again slightly and fans turned up and angle adjusted. 🌬️

Ok. we've got problems it seems for the initial five (day 37).

Compare and contrast the above to last night and this morning. They've been getting a bit droopy and seems to be spreading. Also some slight yellowing of lower leaves, not much but it's there on a few.

I fed them their first and only veg feed on the 8th, a little late admittedly, so maybe the N is causing problems and the lights were waaaaaay too close - 8in...eeek!

And they've had one watering last night since and lights are now up to 20-24in above the canopy at a slightly lower intensity (relatively as obvs had to turn them up). So was approx 580-600PAR at canopy before, now approx 500-550PAR.

My only other thought is the wild week of heat we had with all that very hot and dry air being drawn in didn't make them happy at all. But I'm thinking lights and nutes are more likely suspects here? Gently, gently with them for a while it seems.

The Blue-C Birdie which is about 10 days behind is absolutely fine.

Any ideas, thoughts, help greatly received... 😬

Also meant to give the temp/humidity which have been sitting on 74-75F and was 63% - 65%. VPD averaging around 1.0 but just trying to tweak higher now by lowering humidity a little gradually.

A lot of swings in the heatwave though to keep it cool.

Hmm looked slightly better after lights on last nighty but again a bit sad this morning. It doenst feel or look like their sleep before lights off self to me. Just have to keep an eye on I suppose... πŸ‘€

And the Blue-C Birdie in the tent will be getting her first (and only) veg feed this evening after lights on.

It's all go...lol! 😊

Hey len! Man I dont know what to tell you : ( they look like mine would if I watered a little too often, I also have had some pretty big swings in temps and humidity but never experienced my plants looking droopy from the swing. It really could have just been that heat also… im reaching here lol!

Thanks man, I'll just keep an eye on like you said. I'm probably just just over worrying as checked before going to bed last night and definitely perkier in the middle of their 'day'. Maybe they just get tired/droopy earlier than I'd expect. I'm also reaching...lol!

Got some nice stability back in environment now and so will go softly... πŸ€—

Or maybe today...lol! Had friends round last night so by time they left I was too caned to be getting in that tent and feeding her. πŸ˜„

Little update for the tent ladies, looking better I think. Taken a few leaves off that weren't so pretty but I feel like back on track. The Iced Latte is going great guns (back right of tent) and a lovely sweet smell beginning to come off her (yes i gave her a rub @BearWater ! πŸ˜„ ). And the Blue-C Birdie (front right of tent) is taking it all in her stride (topping and veg feed).

I'm now trying to judge when to give them (x5) their first flower feed (of 2). Veg was on 5th Sept (late) so I'm thinking can't/shouldn't really do it before 19th (2 weeks on) but they are ready for it flower wise. Just wary of over doing things after the little episode they've just had. πŸ€”

Ok, ladies (x5) looking better and better each day.

Have eased them back in with the watering and now the question is, how long to wait before I give them their next, and much needed, flower feed? Last feed (veg) was exactly 10 days ago (8th - got dates wrong above), is it too early to go with this one or should I wait at least 2 weeks?

I'm just wary of over compensating the other way after the issues but my feeling is I should go for it as all now starting to flower well and quite a lot of lighter green leaves which makes me think they are hungry! Maybe not do the full 1/4 cup per plant and half it?

And seems to have gone ok. Here we go on day 38 for the Blue-C Birdie and day 48 for the rest.

I've been fiddling with the temp and humidity so that I can gradually raise that VPD in to a more flowering range. And also raising the lights and just being more gentle with them.

Some delicious smells coming out of the tent now. The Iced Latte is so, so sweet. Froot Fuel beginning to put out those those funky, fruity, fuel notes which I love and so sticky already. Mephisto's Wedding needs some defoliation to open up the bud sites as quite a stocky plant with those leaves and the Twisted Gorilla beginning to show herself nicely. Magic Castle looking stocky as well and last but not least the Blue-C Birdie which missed the heatwave and is on a better feeding schedule is looking great I have to say. May even be the pic of the bunch at the moment if she carries on the way she's going.

I've also just bought some auto watering pots (not autopots) so that is my plan to put them on tomorrow and see how they go. The idea that they can then drink what they want, when they want/need it really appeals to me and will improve my watering tenfold I'm sure. Also means less often watering or filling up for me. I'll still do the dry amendments on top though and water slightly for them. Will stick some pictures up tomorrow of them.

P.S. That weird green tint on all the pics is from the lights, not my phone! πŸ˜„
