Hvac is back on. It was a rough day and night. I hope I didn’t get any unwanted pests having to use the window unit yesterday. It was up at 88 in the grow room but a comfortable cool 88. The hydrometer was showing it cooler at 86. It was 91 in the rest of the house. My dogs weren’t having it. I slept on the floor of the grow room because the window is open enough for anyone to get in. I stole my dogs blanket and slept on the floor. I woke up with the blanket soaked at my feet. I guess the portable ac I bought that wasn’t working was leaking elsewhere than the drain pan. I also noticed the window unit unit appears to have been a used unit. There’s damage to the condenser fins. Either way without further ado I present to you the culprit of failure.

This isn’t my unit but it’s the switch. So this is at the air handler in the attic. The unit has water that drips into a pan then out the drain pipe along the side of the house and drips into the dirt. So what happens is the unit stops working because the pan and drain plugs up with water and the switch trips it off .
^ this is my actual unit. They had to send a few pressurized shots of co2 down the pipeline to unclog the exterior pipe. It is a slimy type mold .

youll probably be ok. My bedroom with the tent and closet in it has had a window unit going all summer long til recently lol.

im gonna get a lot more careful coming into fall though, theyll be trying to get in like crazy.

Behold, one of the funniest scenes in motion picture history.

Frank the tank, a brother in arms. Or, 5ft away, def five feet away, 😂

When he’s just palming kid skulls and tossing them, it gets me every time.

It still holds up
👊🏻🤡

"you just took one in the jugular man" 🤣 🤣🤣

At least this time you’re not in full flower in there hopefully that helps with the power needs from gennys (hopefully you don’t need em and it’s just a blow through hurricane)
That’s what the hope is.

Plus I smell, can’t see that storm hanging out for that. 😳

It’s always good to once a year, use an algae eater like bleach or even lye. Pretty funky shit can def build up In that drain.
If it’s doing that, you may want to look real good at the coils, see if there is a bunch of dust packing it up. They make a foaming ac spray cleaner that does well getting that back to normal, when I service mine here, i put a high pressure nozzle on a hose, and blast the thing. If there where any hotspots on the coil, once Freon can do its job in previously dead spots, a clean coil unit should be able to dry out the air it’s pulling before the majority of the humidity gets sucked up, have you checked to see if the coils behind the filter have been freezing up?

If you have a thermometer that can take surface temps hit the coil on every inch to see if it’s not consistently cold across that component.

I hope so. I am going throw some de around the room. Not the tent. Water now… they weren’t exactly due yet but that 88 degrees they chewed it up.

it may shift a little more towards Louisiana and just take a peak up texas' skirt on the way looks like. fingers crossed for capt

They were recently replaced under warranty. Can’t stop a trane my ass. This thing has been stopped multiple times. Mostly because of it plugging up. I am one of the first buyers when they switched to new the new gas. It’s hot and dry here no reason for some kind of slime mold. Possible cause the newly mandated government gas.

Now you know what to look for if it happens again.

Maybe consider running CO2 in the future. It really helps if you have a hot grow room. The plants actually prefer higher temps and can handle extreme heat much better when CO2 is supplemented. Had an AC unit go down on one of my commercial grow rooms one summer. It got to a whopping 122 degrees F for over 24 hrs and the plants were just fine. Idk how much bottled CO2 runs these days, but a propane CO2 generator is cheap and effective. Of course this means running a sealed grow room, but definitely worth it imho.

These guys are a hoot 🦉. That rattlesnake song is a litmus test for for so many different personalities 🤣 I had a buddy who hated that song, so I would play it often. 😈 I credit satellite radio for getting exposed to them, Sirius xm jamm on channel, I kinda miss the old xm radio, nothing like streaming entire live shows on the air
