Hvac is back on. It was a rough day and night. I hope I didn’t get any unwanted pests having to use the window unit yesterday. It was up at 88 in the grow room but a comfortable cool 88. The hydrometer was showing it cooler at 86. It was 91 in the rest of the house. My dogs weren’t having it. I slept on the floor of the grow room because the window is open enough for anyone to get in. I stole my dogs blanket and slept on the floor. I woke up with the blanket soaked at my feet. I guess the portable ac I bought that wasn’t working was leaking elsewhere than the drain pan. I also noticed the window unit unit appears to have been a used unit. There’s damage to the condenser fins. Either way without further ado I present to you the culprit of failure.
This isn’t my unit but it’s the switch. So this is at the air handler in the attic. The unit has water that drips into a pan then out the drain pipe along the side of the house and drips into the dirt. So what happens is the unit stops working because the pan and drain plugs up with water and the switch trips it off .
^ this is my actual unit. They had to send a few pressurized shots of co2 down the pipeline to unclog the exterior pipe. It is a slimy type mold .
