Well healthy roots, drive plant growth. And healthy vigorous plants with lotsa leaves drive uptake. Less leaves less uptake, it’s about surface leaf exposure, generally speaking your rootzone should be the equivalent to plant matter above ground. Ball park. And with the height of that plant, you can def get away with opening up that top, and getting better airflow to the main stalk. I’m the type of dude who will sometimes daily, snag bitch ass fans. I’m constantly trying to open up for new growth.
If I have 10-15% light penetration to the top of the dirt, it helps achieve that balance faster.
Helps that soil top dryback as well so ya don’t get any algae or mildew on top of your soil

Personally I try to leave as much foliage on the plant as I can, especially the early formed larger fan leaves.

They are giant solar panels harnessing the energy for the plant, as well as mobile nutrient reserves. I will opt to tuck fan leaves if I can, rather than trim. I usually wait until they start to wilt, or the plant has tapped in to their nutrients before I remove.

I’m also a proponent of leaving all foliage, very rare I have a plant this small with that big of fans though, I only removed those top 2 though kept the lower 4 just removed the top 2 blockers as they were shading the whole plant below, the GP x okie as well as the cement shoes were very large leafed phenos, I’d bet within a week the belt exposed leafs get to the same size,

Still considering a 2nd round of topping though still 50/50 on it, we’ll see how her nodes spread over the next 2 days now that they are exposed if I’m happy with the amount of tops I’ll leave her

I threw caution to the wind and did 2 toppings in my 1GC. It may yet hurt final yield, but it’s a “competition” and that shit needs to be turned up to 11.

Yeah I'm placing bets you got this one in the "Bagg" 😉

Whatever that freak of genetics you're growing is, sure is a fast grower! 👊 🤠

Keep up the good work!

Slowly changing methodology here. Starts now get popped in soaking water and then straight to the mini solos, they seem to like the dry wet cycles better (that and I still suck at watering normal sized solos). From there they will go into the large solos (this is where I dont know what im going to change) im thinking I need a more fluffy medium that drys way quicker, the light warrior stuff seem to do the trick on the first round but these last few seeds popped just weren’t responding well to anything im doing (or lack there of), I think also im going to try and get some mycelium type shit going in the soil before seeds are place so it can establish and help the roots out more : ) staying as positive as I can (life out there is way more precious and important than my bad attitude about my shed lol) stay safe everyone, and spread the love! ❤️✌️

Try using a short shot glass to water, or just place a single ice cube on top of soil and let it melt.

Seedlings do not require much water at all. Once your first set of true leaves form, then incrementally increase the water.

I am just along for the ride.

All the credit goes to the plant and soil. Mostly the worms.

Only disappointing thing so far, if you can call it disappointment, is lack of smell. Doesn’t smell like anything. Just green. No skunk, no funk, no fruit, no berry, no piss, no pine. Just plant.

Her siblings smell like ammonia on one, and a boiled cabbage on another.

Pretty crazy when even my wife points it out in her 5 seconds walking by the tent open 🤣 she was like damn that plants stem is thick as hell 🤣 that was right as I was choppin off those fans last night haha
Had a similar experience with my wife last night and it was my proudest grow moment of my life.

I’ve been curing my blue dream for nearly 2 months now and I thought I’d treat myself to a bowl.

She pokes her head around the door and says “is that something different then you normally smoke because it fucking stinks” 😂😂😂

Just got my t7 in.I think I’m going to need the bigger controller lol. All I’m missing from #ACI#ACINFINITYINCthe heater and a light. But it’s working out for now. Almost have enough to set the closet up as a legit veg tent. View attachment 2271306Still havnt tried the self watering bases. Might get to it this run.
Nice kit mate, I gotta be honest I love ac infinity stuff. It just feels like quality.

Little tip on the self watering bases, which I found out because they weren’t working.

For the capillary action to work the wicks need to be completely soaked through before putting your pot on top. What I found best was to wait until plant needs water, fill the reservoir and soak the wicks. Then put wickes in place and sit dry plant on top, then give one final water from the top. This way capillary action is then working in soil, fabric pot and wicks.

Thanks for the info I’ll keep that in mind when I decide to use them.

Anyone know what this might be? Looks like a camo of some sorts 🤣. Also bumps on the back of the leaves

I got one that looks real close to the the first pic! Had the light set too high along with being too close. From my understanding it can make the plant eat through its nutes and cause what you are seeing. (Thats a real simple explanation and relative to the deficiency of course). In this case I think my plants were deficient in calcium and magnesium? I turned my spider farmer light down for the smaller vegging plants, and I just add more cal-mag to the XXs in veg because I cannot lower the power of my make shift light or raise them any higher lol!

Makes sense. my lights are at 53% veg at 24' might raise it a little but the other plants are doing just fine. started feeding the plants nutrients also so it does have calmag, boost in nitrogen and micros. thanks for the advice :)

I hear you : ) I have the one GDL lookin funky but non of the other ones. My XX’s are cuttings and half of them are way more sensitive to the light this round than their moms were (dont ask me why lol).

I know for fact some of the growers here wont veg anything over 40% on their nice lights! I have backed my sf1000 to around the 40% mark and raised it waaay high! : ) I know lots of this is relative to our own setups and climates, just sharing : )

nice job!

My ears can’t hear what you say to me bro.
👊🏻
Phil is my spirit animal.

This Album spoke to me in so many ways I needed hear, at a time I needed to hear them. So did the Dead too though. Try to reconcile those 2 as your favorite bands inside your head as a testosterone filled, angst ridden teen. Both have some of the best communities I’ve been around though. Metal heads and dead heads, 2 sides of the same coin…I’m just rambling now…
