Thank man. It is what it is. I'm sure I'll still finish up with some decent product. Honestly at this point, this has become a chore; an expensive one at that! Next year: I'm picking out a strain that likes my shitty weather (maybe Northern Lights or White Widow), planting it in the ground and limiting it to only two plant. No more of this 12 plants bullshit. Way too much work. For me personally, if I go a month in the summer smoking one joint every night, that's allot for me! I'm sure I'm going to end up with about a years worth of weed! I'll probably give most of it away.

With 12 plants you are gonna end up with over 5 lbs, your friends will be happy!

It's crazy here! That said, I very much doubt there is a perfect place anywhere for an outdoor grow.

I like where your heads at! I think this is the right attitude to take! Would I rather have 6 pounds of shitty 1980's style weed or just 1 or 2 pounds of something I can look forward to!

Resist cutting early if you don’t need something to smoke. Get some buds from a friend or medical or recreational buds to tide you over. Your plants appear to have another 2-3 weeks for sure. If you’re on Cape Cod, first frost is late October to early November. If you want a taste, take a small bud and dry for a week then smoke. If that sample was good, your final buds will be great! Resend pics here in a couple weeks and I’m sure you’ll get advice. Hang in there and listen to the long-time growers in this forum.

citric will prevent, it will not kill whats already there though. will stall it a bit though. It can kill and remove PM very well though.


Once you start a citric based regiment you need to finish the season with it imho. If you stop during flower youll usually have more issues then if you never did it to begin with because citric will oxidize and break down in time into elements fungi can actually feed off. Its not the chemical itself doing the work, its the surface PH change it causes. IIRC plants will even slowly absorb it. even in the root systems.


New sprayings will prevent it from spreading as quick but its probably not going to totally disappear. It will slow it down though. Citric acid is the only thing i know of that can stop bud rot from happening all together. But it doesnt always totally work, and if you drop the regiment for a bit youve def made a mistake to learn from lol. It has to be preemptive and kept up with after every time its washed from the plant or enough time and morning dewings have gone by.

Dont write off morning dew at this time of year, its on often overlooked encourager of PM and botrytis, especially in stretches of cloudy weather. Doesnt even have to rain.

I wouldn't doubt that they will take up citric acid in some form or another. I was reading a study not long ago that found potassium citrate to have a significantly greater influence on terp production than potassium sulfate.

I actually went out there today and took the Leaf Blower to the plants (from a distance of course). I'm going to start airing them out every morning to get the dew or even rain off of them. I know some say not to do this, but it makes sense to me to at least try to keep them as dry as I can.

While I think that is a great idea, not sure it should be done with diseased plants. Seems like it would just blow the spores everywhere including all over your plants. Just my opinion. Think it is a good idea for us to do before the diseases set in.

Roll you up some mullein with your smoke, Jimmie. Help clean out your lungs. Even smoking it helps your lungs out. Lizards and snake skins is wild.

Bud rot sucks. I suggest covering plants if possible with some type of plastic or something to prevent actually water from hitting plants. Also growing indica vs sativa may help some because less leaf. I live in Maine and it is very common here. Almost have to have a green house for success

I was thinking the same thing. All the Mexican shit that I smoked in the 80's! I very much doubt the dudes down in Mexico were taking great care to make sure Americans had a pleasurable and safe smoking experience!
