Hi everyone,

I've got a real healthy girl in 2nd week of flower right now. Very healthy and perky during lights on but just before lights out she droops.
From my last grows this cycle of perky then droopy stopped as soon as 12/12 commenced.

She's only getting 650ppf at 16" from a mars ts1000.

No worries bro, they look healthy to me. Most likely your just seeing the plant prep for lights out. The only time you should worry about night time droop is if they are not in praying position when lights turn on. But just to be safe post your temp,RH,last water and make sure you check at lights on. Looking ng good tho bro good job

Temps are 23.8c - 24.5c with 55rh and watering when pot is light so about twice every 7 - 9 days until run off. Alternating water, feed, water feed.

Always perky lights on

Yup ok you was gonna givee some perfect numbers lol I can tell cuz only healthy plants droop n prey in Am n pm, good shit bro carry on👍

If a plant starts to lay its leaves down before lights out, that’s telling you something pretty major you’re close to being dialed in if it’s only for an hour or so before your lights go out, but that’s the leaves hiding from the light so they’re getting a little bit too much light in total throughout the day so you need to turn back your light a couple percentage. You’re close to having it dialed in, when you do the leaves be horizontal all day 👊🏻🤡 until the last second

You dont want praying leaves, although it looks great, when a plant prays, again it means it’s too much light, when a plant is praying hard there is less leaf surface a available, The function of a leaf is to soak up as much sun as possible to an extent and the more surface area that leaf is making available to the light the healthier it’s going to transpire at night that’s why the same thing happens when you go to lights out and the plants are laying down and hiding from the light. It’s done been cooking all day. It’s the same thing here it’s just different Side of the spectrum
So yeah, your close, After you feed your plants, you’ll notice that they droop right so in the morning nine times out of 10 they’ll be horizontal or they’ll be praying if your lights a little bit too bright like I said earlier it’s all about everything horizontal even flat canopy

.

The issue is though I'm only at 650 ppfd in the middle and 500 on the sides. Any less and I'll be out of the par range for flowering

All right so here’s another thing that I’ve been dispelling for years the PFD and par maps that come with these lamps these days are garbage toilet paper kindling because every cultivar is different dude there’s no strain on earth that’s exactly the same so how can a PPF de par map Broadley encompass all of that it’s just wrong and also the light height suggestions that they give you as well. They’re terrible too. It’s always easier to hang your light way higher than they say so then you can see how the plant reacts to it and then dial it in and lower it down to the plant overtime and then stop when it starts to bitch at you for it there’s maps Are terrible. I’ve run sensitive strains before it was 500 ppfd or whatever you know all the way until the end of the The run. And also look at very rarely if ever finish or run with the output on my lamp above 70% I veg at no more than 40%. My heights are 30 to 36 inches above canopy at all times if my plants want more, I boost them up to the light instead of dropping it down on a bunch of other plants that might not want that.

Yes I get that but how many watts us your light? This one is only 150w in a 90cm x 90cm space.

It was sitting at 80 - 85%. I've turned it down to 75% and I'll give it couple days and see how she reacts

Notice the distance between light and canopy.

Also, just in case you didn’t know just because I have a larger lights doesn’t mean that your lamps if they are smaller or not capable of producing the same plant the thing is about these lights. Yours might be smaller. It can handle less amount of plants mines bigger it can handle more plants under it, but the wattage use and the output is generally the same. It’s not that much more.

So I’m guessing you’re at the end of week one beginning week two maybe the end of week 75 % is really high dude if anything you want to take it down to about 50% and then every two or three days click it up two or 3% and do it overtimebecause your plants got a little bit of stress Showing on the upper parts of the plant. It’s always better to incrementally uptake your light output in flower to what the plant actually wants, and it gives it an opportunity to harden off to the light too, which is a big thing making such a large jumps from veg to flower in percentage and output. that’s a big stress factor for these plants. you want to do it gradually overtime

My two. Copper
Good luck

I disagree the reason a plant prays is to maximize light capture the 45 ° angle allows all of the plants photo receptive cells or surface to be optimally covered with the most effective light photons. I've heard many say something similar but the science doesn't add up. It's also a well documented phenomenon. If your plant is praying 3 hrs after sunrise it's lacking light it. All plants in nature move leaves and pray at sunrise. Not only that but plants that don't get enough light they prey and adjust,I'm curious where you heard that reasoning ?

Also feeding droop and watering droop is different than lights out droop I'm honestly shocked y'all never had plants that did this ?

I did some research before this post and 9/10 posts responses say that plants drooping 20-30min before lights out is completely normal. Just wanted some opinions on here. I have turned it down about 10% if they're still droopy ill bump it back up

Plants when they hit their light limit for the day go to sleep, that's normal

Always listen to what the plants are telling you, not some chart or meter. I learned that lesson the hard way as a new grower.

I didn’t hear I learned it from growing over 25 years.
There’s only so much light certain cultivars can stand manThere’s only so much light they can stand before they want to go to sleep and hide themselves,
I’ve fed all of my plants yesterday and I woke up this morning and my plants are horizontal and not praying you want horizontal, more leaf surface, showing to the light the more it intakes more I don’t understand what the confusion is here
It’s simple, dude I mean, you can disagree all you want, but the fact of the matter is if they’re drooping before the lights go out, they’ve gotten all the light they can stand for the day if they’re praying and seeking all this crazy amount of light, they’re hiding leaf surface from it Let Let me show you some pics does that look healthy to you because it’s not. Pic 1 this is what too much light and too little relative humidity at the same time looks like in pic two, That’s too much light with too much relative humidity And in both those pictures, they are hiding leaf surface from the light So look that’s my two cents it’s just not some crap. I pulled out of my ass now I’m gonna go ahead and take a picture of my crop this morning. This is what you want horizontal flat so more exposure to the light at less power means that they’ll stay like this all day until lights out not 1-2an hour before they’ll It’s how you maximize the light intake. With less stress. That’s the name of the game. The last 3 pics, is what dialed in lighting looks like.

Like for real bro, you should click on my page and look at all of my plants dude I grow hundreds at a time and none of them do that. I’m just saying man Everybody wants the red line their grows and literally beat the piss out of their plants because they’re worried about yield before they can even grow a plant,
Bass ackwards.
And dude, I know the difference between feeding droop whatever else may pop up,
I’ve grown and dealt with everything under the sun that these plants could freaking throw at me and I have pictures and evidence to show it. It’s all broken down in my picture folders in different ailments that can happen to these plants and ways to fix it because I’ve been there.
So it’s learned knowledge.
