Bud Rot is Killing Me!

Thanks for the update! Sorry to hear about those little pests. It’s good that you caught them early. Keep an eye on the plants, and hopefully, they won’t cause much more damage before harvest.

Got everything trimmed up last night, we only found 8 worm damaged spots total. Much better than i had hoped.
Still a few more plants to go, but i havent seen any damage on those.
The only plant theyre interested in was the Golden Gate Haze. Agent orange and mystery plant seem to be untouched so far.

Question for you all. As mentioned, I had to harvest early because my plants were destroyed by weather and I was losing the battle to bud rot. The problem: before the storm I had fed the plants. I never had an opportunity to flush and basically fed right up until a few days before harvest. I tested a bud straight from the drying rack and it was pretty harsh and metalic tasting. Should I expect that to mellow out a bit with a long cure?

I’m not sure about all that flushing stuff. Cure it , can’t imagine it still tastin metallic. I know miracle grow has some gnarly effects with taste. You might just be tasting the chlorophyll, green crappy taste.

I’ll bet it will mellow it out some! In my opinion, eight weeks isn’t exactly a long cure! Put some aside for six months or a year! See what happens! But no amount of curing is going to turn larfy Early chop into,Da Kine!

I hear you. It wasn't too too early. Couple of weeks, but I hear you. Expectations are calibrated. I look at this season as a tuition payment.

And if it doesn’t live up to your expectations, concentrates might be the way to go! Nothing wrong with them! I love brownies! Don’t have the lungs left to be messing with the high test concentrates! Hash is about it for this chump!

Not a fan of edibles. I would just make hash. I heard it's harder to do with cured weed, but I'm sure it's doable. I had a little under 2# and gave half away. I bet I could get a decent amount of hash from a pound of weed. Then I can just use it to infuse cheap dispensary weed.

Cured or uncured the weed has to be dry to sift it! And the quality just kind of depends on what the tri-comb look like on the weed! But it does take a lot of weed! I think Nick is going to sift a little later today maybe. And that’s what I do also! Use it to Infuze tobacco! L O L!

Seems like i never get the dose right. I have a pretty high tolerence but somehow i always get way too high when its edibles.

You can do the same thing with grain alchohol. Soak the weed in the alch. - then replace with tobacco and let the alch. evaporate off.

Dry ice keif using 220 micron bag. Roughly 5:1 reduction ratio. 5 oz buds to 1 oz kief. Cut dried buds to size of a quarter before sieving.

Yeah, I’ve seen people using dry ice! I just use the 4 screen method when the conditions are right! It seems the quality of the final product depends on how well you can clean up the sift! Using static, electricity, and a nitrile glove! Or DVD case, or whatever! Some sites recommend staying away from dry ice! Supposedly can’t clean it very well! But I imagine the Uncleaned sift is still probably pretty good! I haven’t tried dry ice! Just two cents! looks like a quick and easy Way though!

Yeah, maybe! But the press club isn’t exactly an anecdotal site! Can’t have too much information! Unless it takes two pages to present it! I guess it kind of depends on how much effort you want to put into cleaning!

This is good info on hash making. I'm going to see how my first batch of weed is by year end. If it's not making any progress towards something pleasant to smoke, I'm turning a pound and a half of bud into hash. I just watched a vidio of a guy using the same weed 3-4 times in the ice bubble has process. Wondering if this is viable.

I haven’t bubble washed! But I think Nick runs it through a couple of times! I think he has videos on how to do it if you can just find them! Or whatever you can find on the web! I think he was planning on doing a garbage can manual, ice water run! I know he did one a couple of weeks ago and posted video! Looked like he did all right with it!
