It’s similar to the “popcorn lung” associated with vaping, it originated because they butter extract used used to get aerosolized during popcorn making in the factory workers, the same butter extract is used for making vape juice.nobody has ever gotten “popcorn lung” from vaping, So it was one of those big hype things for awhile I have some of the butter extract it was sent to me from a member on an old e-cigarette forum I frequented (ECF forum) I never used it, it’s still in the e cig cabinet flavorings though, it’s fine if eaten, it’s when it’s inhaled it’s when it’s bad
