@longbottom - How about trying one (or more) of these?

We have several of them throughout our house. We started using them when we had bad smokey air pollution from wildfires. They also work well to remove odors. You could use one in the room near your grow box. We also have some from another manufacturer that works well and has a phone app. There are many brands and models available. The Winix models we have continuously sample the air and clean it as needed. They're great for folks with some allergies, like for our son who is allergic to our cats. The filters do need to be cleaned and occasionally replaced.

Anyone in Sydney interested in a custom built smell free drying cabinet ?
I couldn't find anything so I built my own.
Compressor removed, circulation fans working and carbon filter extraction (brand new filter and fan)
Works perfectly, these are copies of what I am currently using.
I have 2 for sale (see pictures)

How do you smoke your weed or process it into anything useable if you can't have weed odor? You can always do multiple carbon filters like we did in the old days. But isn't masking it thus making your living space smell like a $2 whore house just as bad?

Sorry if it's not clear
It's a drying cabinet with plenty of circulation
It has a carbon filter so moist air is removed from the cabinet without releasing the smell
Don't worry the flowers don't lose their smell :)
Same as using carbon filter on you grow tent

Sorry wasn't talking about your drier. Just a general question in the thread at large. There was time when I had to filter the odor of weed. And even smoked and processed with odor control in mind. Now we are 100% odor, 100% of the time and don't give a crap anymore at all.

At least we don't need to filter odours when we smoke anymore 😁

Ozone generators are highly effective at destroying odor-causing particles through oxidation. They work by producing ozone (O3), which breaks down organic molecules that cause smells. However, it's crucial to use ozone generators with caution:
Install them in your ventilation system, after the carbon filter
Ensure at least 5m of ducting after the generator
Use a non-return valve to prevent ozone leaks
Never allow ozone to come into direct contact with plants or people.
Odor Neutralizers
ONA (Odor Neutralizing Agent) products are popular among growers for their effectiveness in neutralizing cannabis odors:
Available in gel, block, and spray forms
Place them outside the growing area to avoid affecting plant flavor
Particularly useful during the last 6 weeks of the plant's life cycle when odors are strongest
Work through absorption and adsorption of odor-causing molecules.
Odor-Absorbing Gels
These products can supplement your odor control efforts:
Work by attaching to odors and replacing them with more pleasant scents
Often contain essential oils
Best used in conjunction with other methods, especially during the final weeks of flowering. ✌️

So I have the same issue myself and basically all I did was I’ve run a dual manifold that goes into my ceiling dumping out into my attic the two ports on the dual manifold are 6 inch fans and filters that turns into an 8 inch on the top side in my attic I have an 8 inch carbon filter post filter That lasts forever. I get at least four years out of one of those. Good to go.

Nice ! this helps a lot to know a running air out as you mention takes care of the problem... I cant exhaust out to my attic, but can run outside if I can get off my lazy a##....

Would you say that your setup is close to almost 100% no odor doing this?

This is great ! Here is an option that might be that little magic trick I was hoping for. I've looked into something similar but they cost quite a bit to purchase and to maintain the filters....I'll read up on the Winix 5500

There is a lot of AMAZING info here all, I'm taking notes.... Thanks so much !

Ozone is another option I've considered and read up on.... Many say they are great and many say they can cause health issues? In any case, I've put this one recommendation on the "bench" for now simply because of the complexity of Ozone.

As far as masking odors, all of the tips here are excellent and I've used them to make it through flower.... It sure would be nice to have to problem fixed at the source though...If no odor is escaping, my need for masking odor would not be nessesary... We'll see if I can get the odor down with all the tricks mentioned.... If not, odor masking is always a good backup to have on hand...

Thanks !

I live on a cul-de-sac. I haven’t had a neighbor say shit to me in 15 years in this house. I’ve been running it that way for quite a long time. I always figured that overkill was better than a lackadaisical approach but legit dude the moment that I need to replace my filter filters oh best believe I know it outside that’s why I always try to do diligent and have extras waiting for the moment that I do smell anything and that usually like I said in about four year increments being that my 8 inch filter is the post filter at the end of the line once that goes, yeah you’ll smell something, but like I said, as long as you stay on top of it and understand and know that your intervals of time, depending on the settings on your circulation of ventilation system could last longer than my set up or it could easily go faster than my set up it just depends on what your climate like relative to your grow space because of that naturally results may vary, but it works great man. It’s cheap and efficient.

Long story or short version? Lol..

Northern Lights is my friend ! Its amazing ! Low odor while grinding and smoking.(NOT low THC) I use a sploofy and incense while smoking or grinding bud and blow the smoke out a fan... This works very well and my bathroom is clear of all odor in about 20 minutes. I also use either a lidded pipe or a bong with zero smoke escaping... (everything goes through a sploofy)

Funny you mention this, my huge supply of Northern Lights is getting low now. Last night I ground up some Platinum Girl Scout cookies (from dispensary) and it stunk up my bathroom like a skunk... The odor remained in my bathroom for 3 hours even after using incense...I don't have this problem with Northern Lights, Master Kush, or Durban Poison...(all considered low odor strains)

Northern Lights smells amazing without any of that strong skunk smell... Its such a lovely smell too, I can't take my nose out of my jars !

For edibles, I decarb in a crock pot (covered) and put a few cloves of garlic on my stove top to mask odor... Again, the low odor strains like Northern Lights and Master Kush generate a lot less odor than most strains while smoking or cooking...

I read this as a joke and got a good chuckle. (if it was)....

Funny thing is I'm 100% legal to grow 4 plants where I live. (I grow one)
We have one of those hokey municipal ordinances that prohibits outdoor growing with some exceptions. You can grow in a lockable greenhouse. I have my shed set up to meet code but they get sunlight in the day. I'm a medical user so I can keep more plants than the rec limit but the most I have going at any one time is 6. 2 blooming, 2 vegging and 2 clones growing roots. A Durban Poison and an Ice Cream Cake I've been running. Not much wiggle room for failure with such few but always a backup plant in the mix so I don't lose the genetics.

Harvest is crazy ! I do trim one cola at a time to keep odor down (with low odor strains) This is late night while everyone is sleeping... Incense comes out too, my family thinks I meditate and they leave me alone... (I do meditate too)

Here is my favorite harvest (meditation) incense, used at harvest time..

Here is a Durban Poison harvest in my small space.. Thought I'd put this up because pics are fun..

Here is Northern Lights... (One cola at a time--stuck in a box to cure) I do a combination wet/dry trim and dry buds in my grow cabinet. I turn the carbon filter and fan on the lowest setting for drying which can take up to 2 weeks at 50 RH.... These buds are huge and take a long time to dry..

Those are some nice looking buds! I hope you find something to manage the smell. Would be really sad when you need to quit this way.

Thanks, Its always been a dream of mine to grow my own weed. Now with today's technology and new laws, my dream has come true. I love this !

Now if only I had a big house in the country, maybe someday...

Don't even use carbon filters anymore. Wife likes the smell of bud in flower. All of our family knows I grow and have been forever. Don't care what anybody thinks.
Slowly we rise. I'm happy your Cannabis Life is good and the very best wishes to your Family and You. Happy New Year!

We like the smell and we're in a legal state, so we don't worry about it much. My wife doesn't like the odor of Gaia Green nutrients or mycorrhiza when I top dress them in. That's the only time I need to run filters. I've changed my nutrients somewhat and how I add them, which also helped. We have a small tent for drying, and we love the smell of a new harvest. It only lasts a few days, though.

No, it would be way too obvious.... This is a secret grow. I did surround my entire grow cabinet with a thick blanket though, this helps prevent light leaks that might give it away. It does help with odor a bit, but my metal cabinet is solid... All odor escapes at the exhaust...

Here is a funny thing... Right behind my grow cabinet, there is a trap door. I had no idea this was there until a few months ago.. I opened it, and it goes to my fireplace one story up... Basically, its a hole that goes all the way up to my fireplace... I'm guessing its used to clean the ash out of my fireplace? Isn't ash and soot some type of carbon? Anyway, maybe I can run my exhaust up the chimney cleaner and out the chimney.... This might require some type of a special fan though, I'm no HVAC professional but am thinking the distance going up will need some type of force.

Thanks !
There must be a way to filter thru water. Like the old school dryer wet buckets for homes with no dryer vent built in.
