Guys at DFG turned me on to what they use by way of EWC. Seems to be bang for your buck stuff. Up there with what BAS offers as far as quality goes. On Amazon.

BAS actually did a EWC comparison video and it included theirs! I just finished a bag of those I usually use the coast of Maine EWC that I have back again

From what I understand they have like a quality standard but use multiple producers to produce the castings

Awesome video to watch just to learn sourcing of product to know if it was sourced sustainably

Love the switch to my 3x3 living soil bed. Easier than measuring everything out like a scientist. This is my 2nd run in this bed with just a top dress after my last run. I think the N might be a tad high, so not adding any amendments high in N before my next run. This is day 40 of flower.

These are the casting I used when I built my 4x4 bed. 1/2part casting 1/2 part mushrooms compost from my local nursery. 1 part pumice 1 part peet moss. A shit ton of craft blend basalt and bio char. Plus I harvest local clays and silts to build my E horizon.

It’s a good one. I really want to try the colorado worm company castings. I now buy from a local person after watching that episode
Watched the BAS video. According to the tests (Logan) the Colorado stuff is probably just compost mixed with EWC 🤣 especially to test that high. $45 for 10g bag. 😐 I might try it once .. maybe. I saw a vermicompost company near me, should check them out. Hopefully they sell to the public. Earthworm Organics Corporation

Looking great! Almost went with a 3x3 bed in the 4x4 but weren’t with all the 30 gallon pots we’ll see how a few runs go, I figured I can always do a few runs in the bags and once I’ve built up tot he top I can always dump onto a 3x3, top up the bed and continue on

Thats a good plan. I’m Using ecowits and blumat drippers and now I barely have to water, pretty much just water for a weekly feeding and to add microbes.

As for castings, I was using the commercial wiggle worms, I just switched to local worm castings and he gave me a baggie of his worms. Now my soil is loaded with them after only a few months. I Shouldn’t need to add that much castings going forward.

For a cover crop add mustard if you haven’t yet and you’ll have a constant bio fumigation, does great against fungus gnats. Do you use straw? I can’t find anything organic and I’m afraid of bringing in pests so haven’t added it, I really need to consider it.

That is what I always wonder. With the amount of worms I have in my pots do I really even need to add castings?

Will defenitly add in the mustard cover crop, so far it’s Landrino white clover only, was gunna do a mix but wanted to work on my own blend as I found out what each cover crop does to benefit the soil rather than just throwing A bunch in, this is exactly the info I’m looking for! 😍👊👊

I think once you dig in and see worms everywhere you’re probably set I know people still constantly add in more EWC, maybe after a few runs I’ll skip the EWC on one of the pots and see how it does once I know the worms are established

Evening all!

Hi mate you gonna be training these
Yes the 2 kahuna clones in the 4x8 have been topped once already the Frostette will be soon once she kicks out another 2 nodes or so, they’ll be tipped again in probably a weekish or when they are ready

They’ll most likely be double netted as well but we’ll see once we get there

Looking good I can't wait to see em in a few weeks I bet they will bush out

That’s the plan! Each of these 3’s mothers filled a 4x4 section of tent in 12 gallon pots, in these 30’s I plan to veg a few more weeks then get em filled asap

If I flip on March 24th that’ll give me 9 weeks till Memorial Day, (each of these phenos run about 9 weeks)

I figure these new mothers in the 2x4 will most likely be cloned again in about a month for my outdoor plants, I’m thinking the kahuna #3 will run with the Frostette in the 130 gallon boxes, one in each box, I’ll keep cuttin em back till spring they’ll be some crazy bushes

Built the boxes and amended them during the summer and fall, ran cover crop through them, let it die off and grow again, it’s got about 18” of snow on top of the boxes, but last time I dug down to the cover crop it was stil green and healthy under there 😁

I'd love to get some going in the garden but the weather over here is terrible I think bud rot and pm would be a major problem

I’m curious to see if they ripen as fast. I think they take a bit longer in living soil

I’m ok with that! We’ll see how they do, I’m curious about the Frostette myself I kept for for multiple reasons but for one, she’s fast she’s usually cut around week 8 and spot on where I like her every time, these are 6th generation from seed now I’ve grown her synthetic, synthetic and organic amendment mix, all organic amended promix (always promix BX) she runs awesome in everything.

Just random photos of different runs all the same pheno #6
