I’m saying. All my brother in law smokes nowadays is those carts because he’s always with his kids. I would love to be able to make him some carts instead of him getting that grey market who knows what tf lol you got a recipe or a push in the right direction ?
Those grey market carts put me in the hospital almost 5 years ago with a wicked case of lipoid pneumonia. Bad, bad shit!

With all the stoners out there doing backyard breeding, at least we don't have to worry about cannabis going the same direction as the Gros Michel Banana. But there's also something to be said about landrace preservation...

I used to smoke a cut of Moby D with a peculiar plastic taste, so raw, very tasty. But i know the point.
Some of the best weed i smoke and taste, was from brick weed 10/12 yrs ago, the good ones, no bad quality, sinsemilla strong and deep grape ammonia skunky odor.. Man can forgot that too.. It was "garbage" but lead to some good oldies from that seeds.

So im working to price out my upgrades. I will test my lights to see my output but i am already up to nearly $650 with this automated AC infinity stuff and a different nute strategy.

Is there anything else you all would suggest adding to this shopping cart or anything you would remove? Luckily I have a credit card offer which will give me $200 back on a $500 order so that helps. I already ordered my seeds before i made this forum post so ill have to go with those unfortunately.

It would be better to post this in a separate thread. Here's a few thoughts: 1) Whether you need that dongle for the light depends on the light you'll be using. The rest of the AC Infinity stuff looks okay. 2) I doubt you'll need that water filtration stuff. 3) What growth medium will you be using?

Those cheap ph pens are worthless. Go for a decent Apera or Blue Lab pen. I learned that the hard way

Hey all, somewhat of new grower here. I am on my 5th attempt to grow top notch bud with minimal expense and effort. I get better each time but I am still nowhere near the quality that i am looking for.

Personally i'm not picky and i will smoke anything but my friends have high tolerances and they consider mine dirt weed compared to the stuff they smoke.

Sour Diesel in photo. I am using a 4x4 tent with two SF 1000'S and a SF 2000, fox farm soil and nutes, AC infinity intake fan, i let the slight pressure exhaust the air on its own, H02 spore bag, topping, and training with a trellis net, 10 gallon fabric pots, seeds from ilgm. Little to no humidity or temperature control.

What can I do differently or improve upon to get that bag appeal look and smell to my buds? I was looking through the 'frostiest nugs' board on here and even most of those don't look anywhere near as frosty as the dispensory weed. So whats the secret?

Mhmmm, i try to grow nice bud and that's far superior to pharmacy weed here in germany. Get good equipment or leave it be, id reccomend. Half arseing it is not worth the struggle

You know what? Ive been using three of those useless things at a time and getting all different readings and going with my gut LOL. Getting a better one sounds like a great idea.

Fox farm unless you have a better suggestion that isnt too complicated.

I just placed an order today for those AC Infinity self-watering fabric pots bases.

I bought a two pack of Vivosun PCM motor oscillating fans from Amazon for less money than the AC Infinity fans, but I think Vivosun's stuff is lesser quality. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I use a few different Vivosun pieces, like their 19L humidifier, their temp/humidity controller, and on a separate project one of their big 8 inch inline fans. I've Never had a problem. Their gear seems comparable to MH or SF. I tell people to start with Vivosun stuff and if they really get into the hobby they can start upgrading the pieces as you go.

I've been wanting to try a run with the self-watering doodads. I see so many people using them now. I wanna be able to take a vacation and not have my plants suffer too!

A colorimetric (chemical) test kit costs about $12 and works well if a precise reading isn't necessary. It's all I use because I use organic nutrients. I just test my tap water occasionally. It might help figure out which of your three has the best reading.

Fox farm unless you have a better suggestion that isnt too complicated.
Fox Farm soil is okay. You'd probably want Happy Frog because you're adding nutrients. HF has less than their Ocean Forest. (I think they have a third type now, but I've no experience with it.) I started with FF soil, but I've been recycling it for many crops now, so it's not really FF soil now.

I personally love those light day sativad where you feel normal but you kbow your high.but for people that say they had better/stronger all you need is some indica that will knock them out because those people have no idea what they smoke they just want to get disabled.

We all have our own reasons for growing. Some of us don't care about grams per watt. That's more likely a concern for commercial growers or those who like to brag. The need to make a profit could be a big reason store-bought weed isn't as good as homegrown. For my own purposes, however, I care more about potency than yield. To each his own, as they say.
SOo you would be okej growing amazing 18g for 5months?
I feel bad when i dont get at least the gram/w i know i didnt fill the space or i made a shittone of mistakes. And after all that time working on the plant i dont have enought for the rest of the year uffff.

Ditch the water filtration, if it’s just for chlorine just put your water in an open top container for 24 hours to let it off gas, it appears based off your neuts you’ll be growing in a medium and not soil-less (DWC / RDWC etc) so you’re not looking to have RO water or distilled,i Personally fill up 3x 5 gallon water jugs and rotate them usually I use one every 2 days sometimes per day. I let them sit to off gas but I also fill them through a RV inline filter they threads onto a garden hose, they are just Carbon filters ment to remove VOCs (Volitile organic compounds) and impurities etc chlorine / heavy metals etc they are basically all the same lol tbis is just a random one I picked off Amazon, I buy a 4 pack of whatever ones are on sale and replace them once every 2 months

I think you said your plan so far is fox farms, that seems to be the go to for new growers. I used it years ago I liked happy frog until I got a batch that they missed the PH buffer on a few years back, and I of course bought bags from lol, that was a rough run. besides that I liked it, tended to be a bit woody sometimes though. (I eventually switched to promix BX)

I don’t PH anymore, been about 2-2.5 years since I’ve checked it, but I leave that well enough alone, it a controversial subject lol (hell I’ll probably have a ton of replies to this just for saying it lol) but I will agree with those above, when I used to PH, I found those pens are complete junk no 2 will say the same readout even if you re calibrate, then re calibrate again with pre mixed calibration solutions (I tried… multiple times, even brought them to work to check in a lab (off by .5 to 1.0PH on the same pen in consecutive tests ) tested the calibration solutions with a verified calibrated PH tester inside of a actual lab and all were correct, it was the pens. I’ll be honest you’re probably safer without one of those cheapo pens you’ll chase the readout and for all you know you’re just running It wayyyy out of range thinking you’re fixing it , if you do choose to buy one go with a known reliable brand (like a bluelab) , it’s expensive but gotta remember this is technically lab equipment, and good / accurate lab equipment is never cheap

AC infinity dosent have a combo fan and filter deal? usually you can get a better deal buying the combo pack
(Edit their combo packs look odd on Amazon they have the cloud line pro series and then the pro series different prices with same controllers I’ll have to look at those more it seems they have 2 versions of each inline fan size then different combo packs with each,I usually use spiderfarmer exhausts) I’ve set up an 8” AC exhaust for my brother in laws 8x8 but that’s the only one I’ve messed with before, I love their controllers though was super easy to set up even never playing with the dongles before

I’ve heard good results with the self watering bases, I would prefer to use a drip system if I didn’t hand water but I prefer top watering but I’ve seen a few nice runs here on the farm using those bases!

what light do you have? I didn’t see if you mentioned it after this post, I know you said you’d test output but do you have a model number? It’d suck to drop all that cash and have the light be the weak point in the setup

ok that’s enough 🤣

I ended up with a SF humidifier (got a deal on Amazon) based on reviews there and other places. It works great but it's flimsy as fuck. Then for my new veg tent, I went with AC and it feels a little bit more significant than my MH 5x5, but maybe not worth the extra $$$? Time will tell. I tend to be review and word of mouth driven unless I really trust or have enough experience with a brand to just pull the trigger on any particular item.
I'm gonna cruise the SF line of stuff since I don't have any experience with them except for this janky humidifier that seems to work great.

I've read where there are even better performing wicks to replace on the AC bottom watering bases when they get yucky. I think I may lay in a couple extra wicks on bases for larger plants that would drink more/faster. I like to tinker lol.

I have two SF 1000's and a SF 2000. According to the internet they work for a 4x4. Ive had sucessful runs with them. I ordered a par meter or whatever they are called i will test it when i get some time but im assuming its at the bare minimum end.. i have played with the idea of getting a true 4x4 light but they are pricey so im hesitant.

I was getting the water filtration system because i was hearing alot about contaminants in tap water but i usually just tap them for 24 hours like you said.

The carbon filter is not a priority for me either. Mabie ill cut the carbon and water filter out and focus on a better light.
