First off I'm terrible at journals so I hope to keep this updated.
Got my holes dug decided to go in ground again this year. My holes are 24" wide and about 16" deep. I will be using happy frog most likely for soil and Gaia Green for nutes.

Now if you fill the holes with Water, you can see how long it takes for them to drain! That is How you perc them! Gives you an idea on how to water once you have something growing in there! If it takes them days to drain then you might be in for a rough go! If they drain fairly quickly, then you’re probably golden. I perced A few holes around here, and the water level went down about 1 inch a day! That’s why I’m in pots!😆🐒

Went out and filled a hole and it drained 3" in about 45 min.

Looking good so far! See how long it takes to empty! Never hurts to know how much drainage you are working with! But I would perk all of them! You never know! If one of them drains significantly Slower you can note it And if the plant in that hole starts giving you problems, then you have one more piece of information to troubleshoot with!

It's a puddle at the bottom now. Maybe 1.5 hours or less. Funny the ground doesn't look like it would suck down water so fast. I knew it had to be good though cuz I over watered a few plants accidentally forgetting the water is on. I have a good 25 gal plastic pot i may put one in.

It will drain slower as you water more. It sounds like it should be okay.

You might consider using the excess soil to build a berm or ridge around the holes. That'll help the water diffuse downward instead of toward the surrounding soil. I might even fill the new soil up near the top of the berm to facilitate gas exchange.

I build berms just insufficient ones. My garden will be awesome this year.

Sweet! Hope they’re all like that!
