So I have my t5 close to my seedlings trying to reduce stretch. Well all that happens is they grow and touch the light. Wtf? I will be switching to my ViparSpectra 100-watt light as soon as they stop stretching.

Maybe your T5 is on the low watt, low output side! And I think the Kelvin can make a difference! When I drop my 4 foot LED shop light down on top of them they try and make a U-turn and bury their heads back into the soil! L O L!

My seedlings seem like they are doing ok. For some reason my OG Kush is super tiny comparatively speaking. My northern lights is about as stretched as it can.

I grew OG kush outside in Oregon it did really well. Yes on the smaller side for using a 15gal. And i topped all of them also. I'm gonna grow a different kush i've not grown before Kahfila kush, not sure i spelled it right it's named after some rapper LOL. I've not started my seeds yet propley end of March.

This coming Wednesday i get really lucky. Bearwater and I were talking about my grow. Where he lives (140 miles away) is a place where they make amazing soil for gardening. He said the stuff is great and well worth the cost.
About a week and a half ago he shoots me a PM. He tells me he will be an hour away from me on the 15th. He then offered to bring me some soil. Really? Adding on an extra 2+ hours driving? What an amazing stand up man. This is someone who really looks out for fellow growers. I cant wait to smoke up with a fellow forum friend. All I know is this year's grow will be very special.

Don't they get burnt?

Usually, they don't. That mostly happens with oils, like neem oil. Use of an emulsifier, like a detergent, can avoid that. That said, I doubt misting seedlings would be helpful in most circumstances.

Well got my soil today. Looks nice and smells good. Got to meet Bearwater. What a good man. We worked, we smoked, and had some great conversation. I think I may have gotten him a little messed up

Well i got my holes filled today. My soil is heavy and a bit muddy. I could or should have used more perlite. I mixed it at 30% perlite. Could have done 50% and been closer to good. Will see how this plays out.

man it was great to hang out and im glad i got to help with some soil! even if its a little muddy now i think once you get it watered in a few times and it warms up AAAAANND you have some plants drinking it up they wont be so muddy : ) but its good you got an idea what the soil is doing now. you may try and watering in the holes a little slower IE; spray one hole till the top is looking saturated, then move to the next hole and do the same and there after and just work your way around your holes a minute or two at a time. for feedings if you are doing that I just mixed food in a garbage can and dumped that on and let it soak in. but I can see you going a FEW days without watering like you saying : ) Hey @Oldchucky how many days will you get from a fully watered pot in the summer before you need to water again? (I know it’s not totally relavent)

also that Jade Nectar guy chucky is talking about has great videos to watch on outdoor! dudes a pro for sure : )

Early in the season when the plants are small, but it’s still hot and dry maybe a week or more. But as the plants get bigger and start drinking more that interval gradually gets shorter! Probably down to two or three days or less in late August! I use a lot of perlite! And will only occasionally water to runoff! Different parts of the pot dry out at different rates! It’s kind of a balancing act! If the bottom of the pot is still wet, I will just water the top half! I try to avoid the possibility of leaching out my soil because I don’t feed during the grow! That’s where the moisture meter comes in handy! Jam it into the side of the pot down at the bottom and if it reads dry Will water till the needle starts to move then I know the water has reached the desired level without a bunch of runoff! It’s just something you kind of get a feel for! Every climate is different! Late in the season, you can pretty much water at will. And like you said, I will make two or three circuits through the plants adding a little water a time and letting it soak in till I think it’s good! Instead of doing it one in fell swoop! The majority of my watering isn’t even for the plant! It’s to keep evaporation happening to keep the pot cool! I’ll give her the outside of the pot around the edge a good watering just for that reason!

I know that doesn’t help phreaker out because in holes you just have to kind of figure it out! Everyone can be different! Probably more plant reading involved! But I think the cheap long probe, single probe, moisture meters are indispensable! Will give you a vague idea of what’s going on at the bottom of your holes! If you don’t have one already!

Just seeing this thread and loving it I've got heavy clay soil complete with rocks, even sone boulders and I'm giving up growing in the soil IN MY GARDEN Between the horrible soil that I've been amending for over a decade now with horse manure, straw, dirty chicken straw and too many pulled weeds and raked leaves and full time composting table scraps and the fucking gophers I've had enough. I've layed down cardboard and then old shower doors (gophers will chew through most pots) to place my pots of coco coir. BUT, I've got several dozen tomato starts I don't have pots or coir for so might just pop a few holes and see what I can do

For many decades I grew everything, including weed only in garden soil in the ground. I'm evolving

I've rarely misted seedling in 45 years, depending on the conditions. I'm growing 24/7 365 in sunny so cal and seedlings in August and Sept here in triple digits and 0 humidity then yeah, they could use a spritz or 3 of plain water. Otherwise there's no need.

One thing I noticed. It took very little water to saturate the soil. I took a shovel and dug out a scoop and it was wet. My strategy will be small amounts of water period. I believe it will be the only thing to do.
