very nice haul good sir. That plant had some beautiful structure.

btw If you trim your buds after the dry, they will smell a lot stronger, and look prettier both. its also less messy (depending how you set yourself up for it anyway) to trim, and you can use the sugar material immediately for stuffs, and you also get this nice little layer of kief on the trays you can press right into hash to smoke as you finish up the trimming sometimes.

Honestly, unless your drying space humidity is consistently too high or too cold, or the buds are just gargantuan and crazy dense both, there is literally zero practical benefit to trimming buds fresh, unless your a mass scale commercial cultivator that has to hire trimmers, or you just want to dry the weed faster then necessary out of impatience.

Fwiw anyway. Not poking fun at fresh trimming, but this is indeed the case.

i might have to fresh trim the little maui plant i just took down, i cant get the humidity under 65% in the basement, even running two dehumidifiers. Ill have to make that decision today though, before the buds lose anymore turgidity. Decisions decisions. Risk mold for stronger smell and flavor, or dodge mold entirely and risk a muted smell and flavor lol.

yeah rh could be an issue sometime. ( i lost a whole harvest last summer, weed didn't dry after 6 week due to high rh and started to mold) also they take less space for drying once trimmed, i live in a small appartment don't have much space for the plants.

6 weeks? dammmmmmn. Thats actually a testament to the clenliness of your grow and drying space though. Most people will see mold growth by week 3 if the RH hasnt been brought below 65% or so. Im right on that line here, so im struggling hard to make the fresh/dry trim decision. I might take the risk and just try and sheet the closet theyre hanging up in off with a tarp and run the dehumidifiers in there. This maui pheno is mild in the terps, but floral and super pleasant. If she dries too quick ill totally ruin the pleasant floral qualities.

My man, order a dehumidifier from amazon or make some anhydrous desiccant or something lol. And not one of those shitty "dual core" ones. 6 weeks is insanity. But also mad props on a space that dust free.

i have the window open 24H/24H all year long , humidity is just what the weather and seasons are like. i just cross fingers each time past mid flowering and for drying nothing goes wrong. : )

Well there's that old Ionic breeze commercial that talks about the air from outside being seven times less polluted and dust filled than the air inside 🤷.

I totally just noticed I had the ceiling AC vent down here closed lol

I opened it up and believe it or not I'm down to 64 Fahrenheit and 61% Rh in about 10 minutes xD.

Looks like I may actually have to shut off the dehumidifiers

the concern is more that from mid autumn to mid spring general building heater is turned on and i have to keep the window open to lower temperature i had rarely rh issue in winter due to the fact heater tend to dry the air inside the appartment, then rest of the year rh in the appartment is rather the same as outdoor, in summer i have to keep the window open so my appartment doens't turn into an oven. This is when rh could sometime be too high and cause more or less issues. And most of the time nothing goes too wrong.

I'm retaining more smell and getting a good dry by hanging for about a week, trimming when it's still up around 70% and then putting it in an open jar (or tote for larger harvest) to vapor down to 62%. Not only that, but trimming at 70% you don't have pieces flying around like tiddlywinks. 😂

def do whatever works best for you there lol.

70% is prob about where i start trimming, though honestly probably even less. Its pretty dry when i trim. Any higher i absolutely hate having to trim, unless its still fresh and turgid. Seems as much ripping and tearing happens as trimming, and everything sticks to everything else and im cleaning my scissors in alcohol every 2 mins lmao.

I just let it hanmg under 68f at about 60% rh. Is usually perfect to trim and jar after 9-12 days or so regardless of bud size and density. I trim and i seal the jars up right away and dont open them again at all to burp, long as i nailed the timing and im familiar with the clone. Ill have jars penetrating entire rooms soon as theyre cracked if its a stout plant. Literally an hour after first jar, no burps required.

i just sit on the floor and trim over a laid out piece of vinyl. or on a chair over a big rubbermaid tub. I never have bits flying where i dont want them.

Just some dinner.

Hot dog casserole.

Looks like I'm gonna have a few Maui x PB2 fems floating around too. (This was a sample nug I trimmed and hung last Friday so I could pop this seed asap)

None of the 3 in there have any signs anywhere of hermy or male flowers anywhere. Have checked repeatedly daily for a few weeks.

The weird thing, only Maui was growing seeds. As far as I can tell banjo x Columbian and mango x haymeadow are totally clean of seeds.

I guess I'll just have to pop them at some point and find out 🤷

You just reminded me my Ice Cream Cake plant from fall harvest gifted me a single bonus seed, courtesy of a budworm. I shoulda popped that thing a month ago!

force hermed self pollenated S1 from a stable female will be identical to the plant it came from.

if you liked that Ice Cream cake youre going to be thrilled with that s1. Do not grow the s2s if you get some though, they will genetic herm out the ass on you, a second gen self pollenated bean from a stable fem plant can be a grow ruining bean if you dont know to expect trouble. That first s1 generation tends to be winners though.

Is this a normal thing they eat In your country?!
Normal is a setting on a washing machine. American food is so great we take food from around the world and combine it in fantastic and sometimes horrible ways.
From bacon weave to smoked pork shoulder to the lowly hotdog casserole which in the 70' s could feed 4 kids and mom n dad for about 3 bucks.
