btw If you trim your buds after the dry, they will smell a lot stronger, and look prettier both. its also less messy (depending how you set yourself up for it anyway) to trim, and you can use the sugar material immediately for stuffs, and you also get this nice little layer of kief on the trays you can press right into hash to smoke as you finish up the trimming sometimes.
Honestly, unless your drying space humidity is consistently too high or too cold, or the buds are just gargantuan and crazy dense both, there is literally zero practical benefit to trimming buds fresh, unless your a mass scale commercial cultivator that has to hire trimmers, or you just want to dry the weed faster then necessary out of impatience.
Fwiw anyway. Not poking fun at fresh trimming, but this is indeed the case.
i might have to fresh trim the little maui plant i just took down, i cant get the humidity under 65% in the basement, even running two dehumidifiers. Ill have to make that decision today though, before the buds lose anymore turgidity. Decisions decisions. Risk mold for stronger smell and flavor, or dodge mold entirely and risk a muted smell and flavor lol.
