Well slap my ass and call me Sally... 3 for 3. I didn't have any faith in these seeds. I'd had a couple packs I held onto since last year 4/20 and couldn't get a single shell to crack open. So they threw a couple new packs in with my purchase this 4/20 and since I'm propagating the garden for summer right now, I figured what the hell worst thing that could happen is nothing pops again. I should point out I haven't germinated a pot seed in decades. Every other kind of seed, yeah. I propagate the garden through cloning. So those old crappy seeds were all I was playing with and I was like, WTF am I doing wrong? And that's about the time that heckler from Happy Gilmore showed up in my head, calling me a jackass and shit cause I couldn't pop a seed.

BTW these packs aren't seeds you would buy. The farm gives cases of seed packs to stores that sell their weed to give to customers as a promotional item. I think one of my regular stores got in trouble with them because they added those free seeds to their menu and were selling them for $4 a pack. And who knows how poorly they were handled before I got my hands on them. Meh. They're meant as a novelty and that's it, although I presume the seeds come from stock on the farm so it's not gonna be an absolutely horrible plant outside of all the ways I'll abuse it. 🤣

Anyways, finally got a seed to pop and got my mojo back. 😎

Mad props for the cage!
Field mice are bastards.

But I'm not one to be sexist, so I'll call em all a buncha cunts too.

I haven't had a run in with a rabbit, a deer or a mouse with a tiny plant in ground since I started using those. Most animals with at least 1/4 a brain see something like these cages, and stay the f*** away from them because they have no idea what they are lol.

You can string paper plates up right over the ground around a patch too with fishing line, and rabbits and deer won't get near them because they have no idea what they are.

Pretty much anything you do that wild animals are not used to seeing people do, animals stay away from it.

That's why scarecrows used to work but don't anymore lol.

Even a field mouse isn't as dumb as most people think, and most mammals can absolutely recognize when something was done by a human. It kind of stands out like a sore thumb. If they can tell it was done by a human and it's not something that they've seen before, they don't f*** with it

Our last night of a 5 night stay

I've gone through about a half oz in 5 days of rest and recharge. Mt Laguna some 6000' elevation in San Diego county. Arrived Sunday afternoon and Monday night we had 40+ mph winds and a bit of rain and got a bit cold at upper 30's to lower 40's at night every night so we have a Mr Heater and 5 gallon tank that keeps the tent about 10F warmer.

We get the site for half, I've got a senior pass so we paid like $90 for the week. We bought the lights just for camping.

Garlic & Herb Iron Ranch Loin Chops and baked potatoes tonight

We also took bread, Sliced meats and sliced cheeses, hot dogs and Buns, chips, cheese dip, salsa and a loaf of Date Nut Raisin bread from a Bakery in Julian so we ate well without dishes other than a few utensils.

There's a larger bathroom with quarter showers you can use coed, if ya know what i mean, nudge nudge grin grin. Always nice to spend time in nature and away from city life.

Was about to hit post when my wife sees this owl

Seedling 🌱 heat mats?

I'm thinking of buying 2 seedling heat mats for my Super Grow Window 🪟

Was wondering if I can get the non thermostat control mats and just run them 24/7 or is it better to find ones with controllers?

I've never used them but use to have a reptile hot rock I used. I carved out a space in a foam block to fit and then placed a metal pan on top for seeds. Worked well😉

I’ve been using Spider Farmer Mats. No controller. Works well for me in the colder months. ✌️

Is that a federal campground? They’ve charged people for possession in states where it’s legal.
