Buy another 100w LED or go for a 350/400 light?

Honestly? I would buy both a larger tent and a more powerful light fit properly to the new tent.

Why? because a 2 x 2 tent really isn't all that practical for anything other than vegging a few plants or using as a cloning tent. It's even too small to "really grow" one photoperiod plant.

I realize space might be a limiting factor. If so, would you be able to fit this in your place? A tent this size would allow you to grow 2-3 photoperiod plants. Maybe more if you keep them small. (tent size 36" x 60" x 78")

I grow up to three ounces of bud in a very very small space, much smaller than 2x2 and my vertical height it 3 feet. Your way off saying that 1 photoperiod plans cannot be grown in a 2x2 space..

I will agree that more space can make life easier if you have the room. But to say that a 2x2 is too small to grow 1 photoperiod plant is bad advice,,, In fact, I’ve had many people watching my grow journals that are blown away with the amount of bud I produce in a very small space,,I had a user tell me that he uses 800 watts of light in a huge space that produced less bud than my tiny cabinet…(Christmas tree vs my mainline plants,)He even went as far as to buy a small tent to try my technique,

I would not mess around with a tent that size. It's not worth my time and would be worthless to me. I don't take back my advice because for me its senseless. For flower, I wouldn't run less than a 5 x 5 but that is me.

Now here's the nice thing about it ... if you like your 2 x 2 setup, use it and enjoy your 3 oz. In the mean time, I'll be enjoying my 3 lbs.

I give weed away all the time, 3 ounces is way too much for me to smoke. Maybe cut down a bit so you can think clearly? Not everyone is after pounds. Both small and large scale growers can enjoy this hobby right? We are all growers after all, who cares how much, everyone has different needs...

My 2 cents. I grow in a 4'x4'x8' Gorilla Grow tent. I've been using coco coir for the past three years/grows. I had a shorter tent, but my first coco grow exploded on me (see 'Explosive Growth in Coco Coir' here - lots of pics.)

I use a 600w LED grow light from HLG. It has a dimmer switch, so I can turn down the intensity for seedlings, turn it up for flowering, etc.

I has taught me some facts about growing cannabis in a grow tent. First off, I used to grow 5 plants, and I changed to 4 because a pot in the middle of the tent prevented convenient access. And I learned that the surface area of the tent determines the yield, assuming bright enough grow light. You can get the same yield from 1 plant, or 4 or 16. It all depends on you topping the plant as it grows. 16 plants in 1 gallon pots - no trimming, just let it grow. 1 plant with massive topping and pruning - same thing - it fills up the tent from corner to corner. 4 plants - same thing, they fill the tent from corner to corner, as long as you top and prune appropriately. So it takes more labor to do fewer plants because of more trimming time. But it only takes 4 ($10/ea) seeds instead of 16 if you are willing to prune.

But it requires enough light, and enough space for the lighting to work. In my case, 600w is just about right. 650w, maybe 700, would fill out the edge buds a little better, but the light will still not penetrate more than a foot or so of heavy bud growth. If you grow sativa, you may have those buds at eye level. If you grow indica, you may get the same buds but on 1-2 foot shorter stalks.

I have my light hanging to give a minimum of 30 inches (24 to 36 is about right) of space between the light and the top of the plants. If I let the plants get closer, the light will not be bright at the edges, and I won't get good bud growth past the edge of the light. This has been a problem in the past when I waited too long before flipping to flower, and the plants got too tall. Suddenly I had 7-8 inches of space, which burned the center buds and let the outer ones looking for light.

Anyway, bottom line. For a 4x4 tent, you need want 600-700w. A 5x5 tent is 40% large, so will take much more power, or two lights. A 3x3 will need something like 450-500w, but like a 2x2, it's just too small to be meaningful except as a nursery or specialized grow area among others. 100w? Good for seedlings, but not for buds.
