Banjo Blaster #1's veg structure is a thing of beauty 😍

Pb4 x haymeadow definitely have some beautiful structured leaves also beasts in veg. They are bullying all of the other strains around them out of the way in my little veg setup. For sure

I actually culled two I thought were males now I’ve weeded down to these three to flower out here in a few weeks.

Here’s a question for my boys on the wreck. I’ve been loving doing a heavy flush on my plants lately I feel like it really gives them a cleaner taste with less of that back of the throat harshness for sure. Some strains more than others. But anyway question is how do you decide when to start?

My problem is when growing new strains especially crosses and mysteries I don’t know how long are going to take. Do you base it on trichomes turning or maybe when the pistils are changed a certain percentage to red. I’m just always worried I’m going to “miss out” on some growth or late in flower or if I start flushing too early.

Also I’m in coco so I honestly think k it’s even easier than soil growers or at least takes less time.

Bro, this heat is fucking ridiculous this year isn’t it? I think I remember saying something about that last year and the year before that and the year before that..

You spoil yourself, motherfucker I love it. Never change.👊🏻🤡
Chillin out in the garden baked checkin the girls out after the heavy watering, did I mention I out a A&B x Okie out there and amended the absolute fuck outta it, if organics can burn this is the test 🤣

Then the mystery plant in the raspberry box is licking ass now too!

Everything looks happy as submit after the big EWC tea watering this morning!

I definitely don’t have any idea about flushing, because I’m growing organic, but if you go off the trichomes you could probably flush as soon as you start seeing cloudy triches and be safe for another week. It’d bring out some colors probably as well, as your plants would start to move nutrients around after the flushing. Im interested to see what others have to say about this.

Good question, I personally go based on time and how the flower is developing! Around week 6-7 I’ll be inspecting them and the fatter ones with more orange hairs I’ll start nothing but water for the next 2 weeks then darkness to really get the last juice from them!
If the plants are looking a little smaller on the nug side, OR more white pistils, I typically wait 1-2 more weeks of light nutrients, I’ve noticed this really does help flavor!

Love the garden brother! If I may…. Companion planting definitely helps a lot, and might help with some pest and yield. cilantro and carrots are great!
Tomatoes and basil, perfect even tomatoes next to bush beans,
anything with marigold,
Brocolli and cosmos
And marigold and nastriums with cannabis basil works too.
Wish you a bountiful harvest 😇

I'm of the opinion that it doesn't make enough of a difference to justify the loss in weight
and terp/resin production.

How do you flush soil? How do you account for plants in soil looking lush and green right
up until chop, with no sign of fading (senescence)? They are as nutrient laden as they can be.

Flushing is bro science that started in the hydro circles way back when imo. I say blast'em
until you chop them. Drying and curing is wayyy more important than flushing imo. Here's
from the web supporting this position:🤓👍✌️

Is Flushing Cannabis Before Harvest Necessary?

What “flushing” means:

Flushing typically means giving your plants only water (sometimes with enzymes or finishing agents) for the last 7–14 days before harvest. The belief is it removes excess nutrients and leads to smoother, better-tasting bud.

🧪 The Science:
  1. No credible peer-reviewed studies definitively prove that flushing improves taste, aroma, or cannabinoid content.
  2. Rx Green Technologies (a respected cannabis nutrient company) ran a blind test in 2020:
    • They grew cannabis under controlled conditions, flushing for 0, 7, and 14 days.
    • Result: No significant difference in taste, aroma, or smoothness based on chemical analysis or blind taste panels. In fact, the unflushed plants often scored higher in flavor and THC content.

🌿 Bro Science Origins:

Flushing is rooted more in hydroponic culture and the idea of “salt buildup,” which can be a real issue in overfed or poorly managed systems. But in modern, dialed-in systems with proper EC control? Flushing is likely unnecessary.

🔥 Bottom line: Flushing is mostly bro science unless your system has been overloaded. A clean, properly fed plant doesn’t need to be starved at the end.

TL;DR Summary:

TopicScience-Backed?Verdict
Flushing before harvest❌ Mostly bro scienceNot necessary in clean systems
Plants prefer organics❌ They can't tellNPK is NPK at the root level

You’re better off focusing on:

  • Proper EC/pH control
  • Finishing your plants strong
  • Drying/curing correctlythis affects taste more than flushing ever will.

If anyone can.... I'm needing to get better at this cure. I get the concept I believe. But can one of you bud gods give a detailed breakdown as if I knew nothing? Lol this is my 6th run and I know I'm growing some fire but I know I'm not doing the best cure and losing some quality.

this shit is legit

Do Plants Care About Organics?

Short answer: No.

Plants do not recognize whether their nitrogen came from:
  • Bat guano 🦇 (organic)
  • Ammonium nitrate 🧪 (synthetic)
They absorb nutrients in ionic form:
  • Nitrogen as NO₃⁻ or NH₄⁺
  • Phosphorus as H₂PO₄⁻ or HPO₄²⁻
  • Potassium as K⁺
Once in ionic form, NPK is NPK — the plant can’t tell the difference.
Where organics do make a difference:

  1. Microbial interactions: Organics feed soil life, which helps unlock nutrients in slow-release forms.
  2. Buffering capacity: Organic soils tend to be more forgiving with pH and nutrient swings.
  3. Flavor profile (debatable): Some growers swear organic-grown cannabis has better “terps.” While possible, this could be due to indirect factors like soil biology and slower uptake, not the NPK itself.

🌱 So, while plants don’t care, the grow environment might. Organics are more about soil health and philosophy than chemistry.

Is Senescence the Same as Flushing?

Not exactly — but they’re often confused:

Flushing (Bro Practice)Senescence (Natural Biology)
Imposed by grower with water onlyHappens automatically
Goal: "remove" nutrients from the plantGoal: reallocate nutrients to buds
Can stunt the plant if done too earlyIs a normal and healthy final phase
Often leads to forced yellowingComes gradually and rhythmically

Less airflow most likely.
Always have indirect wind when you’re hanging and drying if your stuff is drying too fast and you’re in a tent take it out of the tent in my opinion the way that I score the best is to stay around that 70° no higher than 80 by God with indirect airflow Point your fans up at the ceiling or something and if you’re below 62% relative humidity for extended periods then you need to introduce some type of humidity to your situation. I’ve taken my plants into the bathroom with me when I shower and leave them hanging in there while the humidity dissipates if it’s too dry for too long. the longer you can keep everything towards 62% relative humidity and no hotter than 75° the better I always shoot for 70° at 62% as long as humanly possible and it’s the same thing that I do in the jar as long as the air is moving in your room or area you dry in you’ll be fine. You don’t have to see your plants rocking in the wind from airflow in your drying section.

62% is everything

In soil player, I never fucking flush that shit is for toilets😆
