That shift from being a thriving airbase to being a training center for air national guard was pretty drastic. Every once in a blue moon we get fighters that take off from Mugu at night heading out to the Mojave Airspace and they go full after burner. That's a weird spectacle to see if it's moving away from you because it looks like an almost stationary orange flare glowing in the sky. It wasn't until around the third time I'd seen one that I even realized what I was observing.

Sometimes I can't sleep and then I listen to the radio interception of the Soviet astronaut who burned up on re-entry bitching and screaming the whole way, and it gets much better. If that doesn't help there is the audio recording of the submarine Kursk imploding.

One night a few years ago I was with my cousins and we were driving to see a band called Dogs in a pile at a local venue and we witnessed a larger cargo or tanker style aircraft flying north as we crested a hill facing due east and it had two fighter jets accompanying it that were flying much faster than the larger aircraft. They looked as if they were swarming it and moving 3-5 times faster. I reached out to my friend in air traffic control and he said they were probably f35’s or f22’s getting in their mandatory training hours. Dudes former Airforce so I take what he says seriously. Also pretty cool to have a buddy like that when you geek out about military aviation.

you guys' care packages will still be coming, im just pretty sure im at a burned address atm that was burned by my brother before i even got here, so i wont be sending anything until im in michigan


apparently theres been seized packages of drugs from his dumbass and everything i was not informed about to begin with just so he could keep it hidden from mom that it happened at all, and growing here was a very stupid decision.

Everything is already gone though, and ill be in michigan soon, not stressin it.

One of my guitly pleasures is a game called Rule the Waves; about 1880-1970 managing a navy. You have to manage development and build stuff and deal with politicians... who do things you want to coup them for. That's my political fun. Playing Italy, and I plan 3 new ships to advance torpedo research and goddamn Parliamento decides everything is peaceful and fucking cuts my funding.

Well hindsight is always 20/20, I’m sorry you had to learn this lesson the hard way but at least you’re still a free man and dealt with thieves in the night instead of thieves with blue lights. At least you’re heading somewhere with a legal market far away from your brother.
