Laws on the books in the EU, the state of California and other jurisdictions require websites to remove your data when requested. If a self delete feature isn't available, site mods are going to have to help you. Your internet data can live infinitely through internet propagation but when requested, an individual website has to take it down.

Well, he better find a good barrister! I think this site originates in the UK! Could be wrong about that, though!😀

In the case of the UK law it doesn't matter where in the world the site is hosted. If a UK site visitor wants their info removed it has to be removed. I don't know what enforcement mechanisms there are though, I just remember reading up on GDPR when it was first enacted.

The site I mod for, we use Disqus as the engine. You want us to delete your data, it doesn't even reside on our servers... talk to Disqus!

Always use a pseudonym and a burner Email.

The thought police never sleep.

It goes without saying that among 7+ billion people on this planet, there is at least one and maybe dozens more with stalkerish harassing tendencies that could become fixated on you for one irrational reason or another. Yes, use a pseudonym. No, doxxing isn't cool.

Do you mean some one will finally care? (sarcasm)
