hello growers. Anyone else have any experience growing Frozen Cherry Runtz? Not much info on the web because it’s relatively new. It’s supposed to be 30+ Thc with sour fruity terpine flavors. Growing in a 2x4. 230 watt full spectrum LED light with bloom switch. Low budget grow 500€ from seed to cured. I have no expenses for temperature but I don’t have a problem keeping it in VPD range. I might have to sacrifice the colors due to minimal temperature control. There is not much information on this strain so I’ll post the progress. Feel free to ask questions or give advice. I’ve been growing 25 years but it’s been 10 years since my last grow. Something new I did was put a pound of worms in each of my 20 liter fabric pots. Aeration and worms will break through the surface when it’s time to water. I’m going organic as much as I can. Obviously for bloom I’ll be using “Two Phase Bloom “. If you have grown this strain I’d love to hear about it. 400g per plant would be breaking the the expectations of the seed vendor’s genetics.

Nice set up! Im pretty sure you will get nice colors when they start to fade despite the temperatures, its a mix of 2 very colorful strains. I dont have experience with that particular cross but now you got me interested. I always found that cherry strains resemble a little bit the runtz flavor but with a more sweet red cherry wine kinda flavor going on so it must be interesting and its gonna be a good smoke for sure. I grow runtz every year, sometimes just runtz and sometimes crosses.
If you have never grown runtz is one of the tastier and most productive strains that Ive tried, and also high on THC like you said, thats why I grow it every year. When I grow crosses, usually the runtz takes over the terp profile but cherry has an intense terp profile too.

I agree, I’m an American living in Germany and the Runtz taste profile is lacking in the pharmaceutical grade flowers. I took a risk growing this strain because of the lack of data. But I know when grown and cured right, this can be a 30+ thc with a very tasty terpine profile. I’d like to add in the beginning the leaves were very indica. As I thinned out the leaves for my SCROG, they all switched to sativa dominant leaves. That is very curious to me. Medicinally I need indica. Sativa gives me anxiety. Fingers crossed that although the leaves show sativa, the high will still be indica dominant.

Well runtz is 50-50 sativa indica and cherry is indica dominant, about 80% indica, so you will have more myrcene and CBD than with a sativa dominat for sure but if your problem is anxiety maybe you shouldnt smoke strains with such high THC levels as THC is a psychostimulant, its like caffeine but only for your brain not your entire nervous system and the more THC a strain has the less you will benefit from the myrcene and CBD effects in terms of relaxing because they have opposite effects. RQS has 1:1 strains (THC to CBD ratio), if this strain is too much for you despite being indica dominant I would suggest you take a look at them, specially Euphoria and Royal Highness. There's also Fruity Jack from Philosopher Seeds which is 2-3:1 (THC to CBD) if you want to get higher but supress the anxiety from THC.

Im a spaniard living in Spain so I dont know much about the state of Runtz in dispensaries in the US or Germany but Runtz is a Zkittlez+Gelato cross and Zkittlez (and Runtz) need to be harvested before its too ripe or it will lose all flavor. That happens with all strains but with Runtz it happens sooner. The thing is, if you let it ripe more it will give more weight so theyre just being greedy and giving extra time for weight or they dont know how to grow Runtz.

If this strain gives you anxiety get you some decent CBD that doesnt taste like pine to mix it with. If you can only get shitty piny CBD that strain is gonna be very flavorful so maybe you can mask the pine taste.

To be honest, I’m looking to grow the best quality and quantity to get into a grow club here. I’m looking more for a growing career before I start growing medicinally for myself. I have PTSD and I have medication for now but looking to go organic. I recently got divorced and have to live in a homeless shelter in order for me to be present in my daughter’s life. I’ve had offers for master grower in the USA but I’m not abandoning my daughter. Cannabis is recently legalized here in Germany and I have some good ideas to get me out of this place. The laws are young and I need to take the legal steps to create a business or just start a career in cultivation. The laws being so young are leaving a lot of loopholes for now. It sucks being stuck in a foreign country trying to find a job let alone a career knowing basic German. I figured I get my name out there and then I’ll have more opportunities.

30% amber trichomes, the rest milky like usual?

Im sorry you have to go through that man. I also have PTSD, cant imagine having to deal with that in your situation but like you Im doing pretty well with medication. Since I take antipsychotics (Quetiapine) and have benzos prescribed Im doing much, much better. How old is your daughter if you dont mind me asking? Does she live with your ex-wife? Are you able to get the meds that you need? Germany is wealthy and has universal healthcare so at least I hope theyre taking care of your meds if you cant pay for them, specially if you already worked there and contributed with your taxes.

As for your growing career, since you have 25 years of previous experience Im pretty sure that if you go around cannabis clubs or whatever theyre called there enough to try to sell your product it should be easy. Germany is not known for its weed for a good reason, it sucks for the most part is what Ive heard but thats good for you because they will most definetely need experienced growers now more than ever. Also with legalization people who know nothing about it jump into the bussiness and sell mediocre weed. You did a wise choice with that strain too as cherry and runtz are very popular, potent, productive and tasty but runtz is a bit tricky and thats why probably it all tastes dead and yours will be valuable. Ill quote you to keep answering.

I have not grown that cross but my general rule for runtz is no more than 20% amber not counting the big leaves. You will be tempted to keep it for longer because runtz keeps fattening quite a bit after its "done". You might aswell try to push it into 30% amber since we dont know about that cross in specific. Maybe try with one 20% and with the other 30% and see which ones is the best, if you can push further into maturity you will have more weight for sure. For regular runtz, zkittlez is 50% of the genetics, but for your cross its not so maybe you can get away with it.

Germany might be late in the game but they are technologically advanced. They are meticulous. They are usually 7 years behind in what’s popular in USA but I bet in maybe 3 years they’ll be making their names in the cannabis cup. Check YouTube for the legalization celebration. You’ll be surprised the progress in so little time.
My daughter is 5. Been down every antidepressant route. Ssri and atypical. Nothing works as good as the Xanax. I believe there is a strain out there that I can switch the Xanax to cannabis. Right now the Xanax is free and covered by insurance and cannabis is not for ptsd. For cancer it’s covered. Eventually ptsd will be covered. I just have to take the low budget route for now. Universal healthcare is the bomb. Been here 10 years and the healthcare is what’s keeping me from acquiring any healthcare debt.

Thats true, Germany is arguably the most advanced european country and I bet in a few years they will be cooking some good strains but as of now there's not any bank that I know that comes from Germany. You need to try antipsychotics I think, ask for quetiapine and give it a try, tell your psychiatrist that you have a friend with PTSD that told you it helps him a lot. It will also allow you to smoke higher THC contents without paranoia. Mind that the effects are a bit extreme the first 2-3 days but your body addapts quickly and the side effects those first days is basically getting very, very sleepy but thats why you take them before going to bed. For me it was life changing as Ive been trough many antidepressants before too and none helped. I tried xanax too but did nothing for me, Im glad it does something for you, for me it was vortioxetine or known as brintellix but Im considering to stop because I only kept it because it did something, not much, but with the quetiapine Im a new man and I can smoke weed and get the benefits without the paranoia and overthinking (which I have anyway when I dont smoke, it just amplifies it). Also if it doesnt work for you, you can always stop, but I think you will not stop if it benefits you the same way it benefits me.
Weed helps me mostly overcome apathy. I quited a few times for a long time but I always fall to apathy when I do. Might be because I started smoking very young when my brain was developing and now it cant function properly without it, I dont know, but I feel better when I smoke weed.

Sorry xanax is diazepam, I confused it with an antidepressant that I used to take. Xanax does help me, its a benzodiazepine and I usually take 1 or 2 per day, sometimes more if the anxiety amplifies. People say theyre super bad but thats because in the US they have a bad rep because its used recreationally mixed with other drugs and thats dangerous, specially but not only with fentanyl. Ive been using benzos for many years and I have no problems. Of course you cant quit them suddenly, you have to go slow to avoid complications, but if you dont abuse them theyre not super addictive. I can live taking just 1 per day after many years.

I was on Quetiapine for over a year. All it really did was slow me down. I tried lowering the dose and it did nothing. Once I stopped, I felt better than before I was taking it. Trust me, I’ve tried every non-benzo to avoid the stigma but it just works the best. Once I have more financial freedom, I’ll be hunting for a strain or strains to transition to organic medicine. The first I will try is the original “Blueberry “ strain. I remember that strain worked for me and it’s absolutely delicious. That was back in the early 2000s. If you can find the seeds, you should give it a try. It’s not super potent but the terpines produce the most relaxed feeling I’ve ever experienced with all the strains I’ve tried. Man I miss smoking that delicious bud.

I was on Quetiapine for over a year. My sss was still dragging after a month. I lowered the dosage and it did nothing for my anxiety. Not everyone has the same effects from that drug. There were even times when I took it when I didn’t have anxiety then 20-30 minutes later I was in a full panic attack. It was actually 50/50 when it would cause a panic attack. I’m doing great now with just the Xanax. I’m still having night terrors but the right cannabis with the Xanax keeps me from injuring myself in my sleep. I sleep with my knees up feet flat on the bed and when my body twists during these PTSD dreams it twists my knees in a way that’s damaging my meniscus in both knees. My doctor is considering Halcyon for my night dose to stop or decrease movement. It is what it is. This is a cannabis thread and I don’t want to have it taken over by pharmaceutical talk.

Here is the Austrian seed vendor I got mine from: https://mr-hanf.de/
If you open it in google chrome you can have the page translated by clicking the 3 dots in the bottom right corner and click on translate. I’m pretty sure I saw a 41% thc strain available. Affordable buying in Europe. Not sure how much it costs to deliver to the states. I might try the 41% next grow if I can’t find the original blueberry strain.

It’s actually 35% Blackberry Moonrocks

I highly suggest you buy your seeds from the official vendors webpage because you dont know how long theyve been sitting in that seller storage or if theyre properly stored in summer and if you are on the look out the official webpages have disscounts often. I see many spanish banks in there, including the blackberry moonrocks from Anesia Seeds. They ship to all of Europe so you could just get them from there

Also Im a spaniard from Spain like I said before 😁 not worried about shipping costs

Blueberry is in my bucket list too, its just that there's many new aswesome strains out there... I planted it once but it wasnt it, it had floral under notes and not very sweet or fruity, but those seeds were for free so I guess I cant complain 🤣
