That harsh cough is actually from chlorophyll. The final flush is to get rid of all the nitrogen which in turn stops chlorophyll production.

Clackamas Coot Soil Mix

By volume mix the following...

1/3 Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss (CSPM)
1/3 Aeration - I use 3/8" pumice (aka volcanic glass - completely inert)
1/3 Vermicompost


Read up on that mix. It’s arguably the best and there are variations of it.

Chlorophyl degrades as you cure your weed. Also as I said the study showed that the buds have the same levels of NPK wether you flush or not. The major reason why weed make me cough is because Im asthmatic but besides that its because when it combusts it has harsher chemicals than tobbaco, like higher ammonia or hydrogen cianide and more carcinogens and stuff that irritates your lungs. I know its not chlorophyl, or not mainly, because I dont cough significantly more when its not cured.

Pretty good super soil recipe I see, my soil is similar but with a few more ammendments and instead of using basalt I use vermiculite for the cation exchange. (I did read all the ingredients in the webpage that showed)

I think it must be a mix of many things rather than just one. All your smoking, not just the chlorophyl, becomes really nasty stuff when combusted. The only reason I can smoke weed is because I mix it with tobbaco. If I try to smoke a full weed joint I wont be able to give it more than a couple of puffs before I die coughing

I switched to edibles for a while because of asthma. Now I do small bong hits. Different buds from the same bag will effect my asthma differently. I've never really figured out what components causative. Perhaps in time, with personal research and grow techniques I might figure it out. Probably not, but fun to think about....

I've got three Pink Runtz ripening tricomes now, one is a different phenotype, less pink and more dense. They reek of lemon, berry, and gas.

Seek the terps and not the cannabinoid percentages!

THC is going to get the ride off the ground, but the terps determine where it goes, how fast, how long, and crazy that ride is going to be!

I’m sure other unknown compounds play a role as well.

I agree with the color and taste. The terps don’t just give it the flavor profile either. They have a lot to do with the feeling of the high. And when flushed on time and a good 6-8 week cure really brings out the terpenes’ full flavor profile.

I finally harvested yesterday. First time using a tent. Been growing outdoor or full room in a house grows. This time I used what I had laying around to create a substrate for under 40 euros. I’m piss poor so I had no ventilation system and had to use whatever I learned in science to keep everything within limits. My soil was a mix of pulverized volcanic rocks, coco coir, earth worms, peat moss, and pearlite. My tent is a 2’ x 4’ with a 250 watt led and a 100watt led. Regardless, I’ve made it through my first tent grow using the science I learned in college and reading a lot of posts on this site. I picked some fairly new genetics “Frozen cherry runtz “.

Didn’t want to leave this thread hanging without showing how the strain turned out as there are not many pictures or information on how the strain grows.

I agree. I’m testing this particular vendor because I did my homework and I haven’t seen a seed quality under 10. Buying from Holland or USA is overpriced compared to this seed bank.
