(outdoor grower here) I got free seeds from Seedsman 4 years ago. Read the descriptions, 6-8 feet, okay. They topped out at 12-13 feet. Totally unprepared for that! Had them in 10 gallon bags, and had to cable them to the greenhouse to stop them from falling over. Oh, and I DID top them once. LOL

My newbie days, beginner's luck. LOL
(there's a greenhouse behind the plants)

I had that problem last year. Super tall and wide in 25 gal pots. Very top heavyand easily blown over. This pic was about this same time last year. Couldn't reach the top of some even with a ladder. Wasn't wanting super tall plants.

That's good to know. I did the same this spring. Germinate in late March, harden with small fan inside, take outside for a few hours on nice days, in the ground on mother's day. Then grew balls on June 1st. 🥺. All that care....just to yank it outta the ground.😮‍💨
Just to speak to the point you were making, Hoss! Femmes would have prematurely flowered, just like the regs! they are both photos! It can be a pretty fine line between flowering and not flowering! That’s why you always want to wait till you’re sure that’s the time is right to have them out full-time! It’s a hard lesson to learn! Most of us have been there! Done great since then!😁👍

That's the main reason I do feminized seeds. The little extra cost for seeds is made up with time and effort not being wasted. Once I have more space and can start breeding my own then males make sense.
It was a seed from a female plant from last years grow, that was not pollinated
I've read they are typically female, so there ya go. It did get cold for about a week, after moving outside. So maybe it hermed on me.

All I know is it was looking great at the end of the month, then two days later ....NUTS.!

I've found another seed as I've been puffin my way thru the stash, not too long ago, so I at least have another chance with that strain.
( Middle Fork). Some of that Washington state, grown goodness. Perfectly suited for my area. Nice buds, too.

Aww man i do remember those days all i use to grow were regs/bag seed. It's a heart breaker so sorry.
Same here. But hey...when the seed came from a non pollinated female, ya gotta try. I hear the odds are good, it'll be female. In that case.

Never had a successful gorilla grow. They were all males. 😮‍💨. Gave up for many years, till legalization in Ohio.

To be honest, I enjoyed raising it. I got to use my ol GE Brite stick, Gro n Sho. Y'all remember those. That purple hue T5 from the 80s. I used it in conjunction with a newer, white T5 full spectrum bulb.

But I'd have a third monster to deal with, if he'd been a she. So I'm no longer butt hurt, about having to kill one of my kids. Got enough with the two I have....if they make it.

LOL hey i bet Tahoe was beautiful. Now just don't go ape shit heavy handed on these little autos. Less is more till they get a month old at least. I don't do nothing with my outdoor autos let them grow up like trees.
This!!! @cbrians Leave em tf alone!!

😂😂
don’t worry guys this time it can be a class project 🤣

I just need to not look at them ever.

So, NEVER look at uvb lights. I was hooking mine up, checking bulbs. Bla,bla. And the next day woke up in middle of night with sunburned eyes.went to hospital. Said i got eye burns. Everything is cloudy and painful. Will take a few days to heal. Like a regular sun burn. NEVER LOOK AT UVB LIGHTS UP CLOSE. this experience is so frightening when it happens. Still feels scary, as vision is still cloudy, and have to trust doctor it will return. This has been a public service announcement

Even funnier. Was going to the slightly stooped, iration, little stranger show in sterling heights tonight. $90.00 loss. I got a good dose of fafo.

I didn't know seeds from a non-pollinated female are more likely to be female. Have to keep that in mind when I start collecting them.

It’s like a flash burn from welding! It’s uncomfortable for a few days!
