Have to harvest my autos soon, I'm finding bud rot in many places. Some look swelled and ready, others haven't done that yet. And I'm going to harvest the top buds first and let the lowers finish. Trics are cloudy, was hoping to get more amber but...
Took the fan leaves off and did a cusory inspection. Think I'll just trim off all the buds, wash, them put in the hanging net to dry. Seems like the surest way to find all the infected buds.

I love the alternative use for the 3 pt blade.

I would like to know if anybody has grown sour diesel. I just harvested my first plant. I do not like to taste of it, but it definitely does the trick on the brain. I am painting my whole house right now.Lol anyways has anybody else experienced the same thing here’s a couple pictures of the top buds

For those of us growing outdoors there are plenty of bugs that love marijuana plants, some strains more than others and there's no way I can grow and get much smoke, unless I wanna smoke leaves from not maintaining an Intragated Pest Management system or IPM. From neem being my go to to Jack's Dead Bug to diatomaceous earth to sulfur I've got to keep the insect numbers down or I get very little smoke and might as well buy it😉
I was referring to her washing the buds with the hydrogen peroxide/lemon juice/water. Not controlling pests. I have Neem and CJ's soap and use it. I've just never heard of washing the buds before...god only knows what I inhaled back in the day and if I had asked my dealers back then, "hey brother was this shit washed then dried", I'm sure I would have had to find another dealer. But it makes sense, why smoke or eat the nasties.

Maybe I should get some. I hate cleaning the house, but that might make it less annoying. LOL

I’ve grown lots of sour diesel. One of my favorites. Although I always have to wait till the end of October to harvest. To me it taste just as nasty as any other.

The hydrogen peroxide reverts back to water, and the citric acid or any acidic solution changes the pH to a less favorable environment for the bug or PM you’re trying to get rid of.
I get that but, and maybe I'm wrong, she was talking about washing the buds after she picked them and before drying. That's all I was asking about. I hadn't heard of that so I was curious as to what that would do to the trichomes. Apparently nothing and that sounds like a solid idea to eliminate some of what may be lurking (pesticides or pests) in the buds, before you dry it.

Tricom’s aren’t water soluble! That’s why you can make bubble hash! So as long as you don’t beat them up too much they are OK! But you do have to be careful using iso! Too strong of that can dissolve them! Some people use iso for pest control before harvest! A weaker solution of iso!

Iso? Do you mean Isopropyl Alcohol? If so I agree, I do use it every now and again for some bugs, after I dilute it. Thanks for mentioning it. I also use white vinegar and soap. I've been growing gardens since a kid just not pot for a long time.

Again, just wasn't familiar with washing weed. Hell I was toking like a fool during the paraquat crap and still never thought about it. Good idea though.

Yes. Some people wash their harvest, some don’t. I have before. I don’t usually, I feel most crap comes off with the final trim.

I don’t wash it either! But I don’t have to douse my plants with pesticide and fungicide on a constant basis just to get them close to the finish line! I think the few bugs are in there give you the regional flavor!🤤

Maybe it's the paint fumes mixing with it.

Okay guys, I'm starting this year's adventure by experimenting again. LOL

This time I want to dry out the soil before planting to try and see if I can outsmart the Verticillium disease that ruined my crop last year.

I love repurposing, and had a roll of velum, so decided it would work great as an umbrella.
But, I had to buy fiberglass poles to support the vellum, and they came with cute little clips.

I also have an arsenle of biofungicides on the way in case my 'theory' does not pan out. LOL
