Hey guys, hope everyone's Saturday is going well! .. I had a quick question, if you don't mind.. does anyone have experience with azomite, or volcanic ash? I need like an everso slight top off for K and calcium/iron without upping the N.. and this looks like the ticket! The only problem is I can only use it as a top dress and I'm already either three weeks into flower or just at the end of stretch, depending on which plant.. I'm just curious if it as a top dress would do anything at all, or if the minerals/nutrients would take too long for the microbes to break down? Anyway, thanks for reading this, hope your Saturday is and continues to be nice and relaxing. The stuff is a powder, if that makes a difference. It's called Back To The Roots organic azomite

Hey @Beazy I'm really bad at smells, but the Lebanese, I think, is real pungent, kind of like diesel smell. The strawberry/gorilla just smells like weed to me. LOL

@poozgrowz, my advice to you is learn all you can about diseases in your area if you grow outdoors. @Oldchucky has dry weather most of the grow season so he doesn't have to contend with the molds that crop up around me. Powdery mildew is another that is hard to discourage once it starts.

Lots of advice and experience here on the farm and it's gold. Find a successful grower with similar climate and pick their brain, you can get a collegiate level education if you want it. 😉
Tru that.! But we, though hours apart, have a climate that's totally different than anywhere in the nation. I consider it the asshole of the country....cause we see all kinds of crap, for weather and diseases. It's always changing, being close to the great lakes.

I use it when re-amending soil! It takes a long time to break down, and I think it is used more for micros than for macros! Langbenite can be used for potassium, but it is slow acting also and will jack up your calcium, sulfur and maybe magnesium! It’s difficult to just adjust one thing without affecting the other others! I’ve got some potassium sulfate around, but I’ve never used it! I don’t like fucking with any additives well into flower! It’s easy to really jack things up! Good luck with it! Be careful!

Lol yeah thanks, Chucky. I figured it probably wasn't gonna do much for the one that is already on her way, maybe the others will get a little kick of immunity boost for the last couple weeks, they could use it in the NY Autumn! .. I might look into that langbenite.. that sounds like a general heavy hitter!

Someone recommended making banana peel tea! That might be worth looking into! I don’t think you can get in too much trouble with that! Other than drawing in a few unwanted pests!
Lol thats a good one, I've been doing all the home remedies lol, black strap molasses, boiled eggshells. We got it all right in our cabinets already!

I agree with @Oldchucky . Eat a few bananas, cut the peels up and let em soak in water for a couple of days. I've never done it with cannabis but I have with the rest of my garden. Also if you want to help increase uptake and utilization and activate the microbes in the soil you can add some silica and/or unsulfered blackstrap molasses to the tea. Just some suggestions. Happy gardening.
