How do you shine uvc inside the stem? Even inside the buds....
I won't. It'll be a combination of a variety of things. To start off with I'll enclose the environment. The kitchen has easy, absolute enclosure.
The ozone machines will generate enough to pretty much wipe out anything in a hospital surgical suite in every crevice possible.
I used to rent the downstairs for Airbnb and I allowed cannabis smokers and tobacco smokers. Non-smokers are brutal in their reviews. I announced loudly their smokers here but they don't give a shit, they just want to spend time in my wonderful spot and then leave a bad review.
So I bought the most highly productive ozone machines I could in my price range, I think I spent around 400 bucks on them. You use these for crimes scene cleanup. When a body's been putrefying and molding and stuff is running into the floor for a few weeks, you run these for a couple of days after you clean up and hopefully you get everything.
I used these as part of my mushroom sterilization routines when I was developing perfect open mycelium transfers while sitting next to open contaminants. No flow Hood required.
There will be no microscopic organisms left in that room after I run them for 30 minutes.
Any spores spinning around will be destroyed as well.
Except really dense in those damn buds. So it will be an ongoing thing. Each time I work the buds and I open them up some more, I'll do an ozone pass.
And I'll do it every couple of days anyway.
I always want to keep the air swirling. It minimizes spores dropping and germinating but let's face it. There's no way I'm going to get through the center of that thing.
When I'm not in the room I will have a UVC light running at all times. I'll put a motion sensor on it to kill it to make sure. My wife might walk by. I have multiple UVC bulbs which are used to sterilize hotel rooms. Airbnb. Lots of leftover cleaning stuff and crazy sanitation that I went through.
One thing about UVC is it actually creates ozone. So it does the initial destruction of DNA and then it leaves behind ozone to do additional destruction.
Okay, so I can expect to throw some oxidation on the outside of the trichones as part of this process. I'm willing to accept that.
I might see some real damage and then I will lower the ozone levels. Or I'll just say screw it and harvest the plant. I won't let it mold.
