Hello everyone. I have four different plants growing at the same time and they are all on week eight of Flower (timing started from the day I flipped light to 12/12).

I have noticed the plant in the far right corner which is bubba kush is very far behind in comparison to the other three plants(WiFi og, cherry pie and sleepy joe).

I have grown before but over five years ago so I would say this is really my first time growing and I want to make sure I am not overlooking anything. This bubba kush was behind during vegging in comparison to the other plants.

Could it be bad genetics or is there something I’m doing wrong?

I have attached pictures of all the plants, please let me know what you think when you have a chance to look it over. Thanks in advance to everyone for your time.

If you don’t have anything positive to say, keep your negativity to yourself, I’m here, simply looking for advice from those who are experienced and willing to help a newbie

Separately from that, I wanted to ask everybody’s opinion when it comes to trimming. Is wet trim or dry trim better?

Hey Drdanky,
I think your plants look great. Much like everything in nature some living things take a bit longer to grow to maturity. I say keep on doing what you’re doing, these ladies look awesome. As far as wet vs. dry trimming. I always go with the wet trim over dry. There is too much to worry about in dry, i.e. mold and other infestation.

Thank you Merkle. I feel good about three of them, its just that bubba kush on the top right corner thats making me wonder if its herming or has something else going on with it compared to the rest.

Have you noticed any compromise on the terpenes of buds if you wet dry? I've heard people say that dry trimming helps the buds dry as the leaf covers them when they're hanging. Having no experience makes me ask for advice bc it seems like wet trimming would be a lot easier since the leaves haven't rolled into the plant.

You are spot on as far as trimming. Love to see some up and close pics of the bubba kush to see if she is herming.

So I will compromise some of the Terpenes if I go the wet trim route?

I attached three photos below, please let me know if you need more

The Bubba smells fantastic and instantly takes me back to 2008, but it looks so far behind the rest and it was supposed to be a 8-10 week flower.

I read something about switching the lights from 11 on and 13 off to expedite flowering that bubba plant

Ok, so it does not look like she is herming. You have leaves that are turning, that’s great. She should be good to go in a few weeks depending on what the trichs look like. As far as the trimming do what suits your grow best. I always wet trim myself. It works out well for me.

If you are concerned perhaps move this one to another location.

It's probably just genetics. Some plants naturally grow taller than others, especially with different strains in the same tent. You can use something to set the shorter plants on so you have a more even canopy . I have a set of 2×4s and 4×4s i cut to length to fix that problem when it comes up but anything you have laying around will work. Great looking plants by the way.

I get that height will always be different, I’m just surprised this one is so delayed considering it’s 8 weeks into flower.

All the other plans are getting brown hair and getting done, this one just looks like it just started flowering last week.

Sidenote, do you guys have any recommended seed banks that you have used before

Not so much BAD genetics just different, some strains take longer than others, I tend to ditch those strains and stick with an 8 week cycle but that's because I'm trying to get the next one going asap to maximize my yield over the year. But to each his own if you are growing for fun or smoke and find a strain you like maybe you are willing to wait a bit longer( can be up to 12 weeks)
Stress less bro you are doing a great job. Oh and trim wet, its way easier and you lose bulk amounts of crystal doing it when it's dry. I find it easiest straight away while the leaves are still kinda perky before they go soft and lay down. Personally I like to cut the whole plant then hang it from the ceiling in front of me, I don't know anyone else who does that though lol

^ is what i thought

Not bad genetics just a different strain

Most of your other strains look like tall sativas where as the smaller one looks more like a squat indica

Tbh if you didn’t have that net up ( witch you may as well not used as your not scroging witch is what the nets for ) you could put the smaller one on a upside down pot to raise it nearer the light

Thanks for your input. I was concerned bc I was always under the impression that indicas have a shorter flowering cycle and this plant is the shorest and least along. I wanted to make sure i wasn't doing anything to stunt its flowering, i feel better seeing you all say that it could just be the genetics. This is really my first grow and i'm so excited to taste each of these plants when they're finally ready! 😍

I'm growing so that I can have the best possible buds to smoke so i'll orderlook the flowering time for now. Although i will say its annoying to think that each strain has different flower cycle and height, it makes growing 4 strains at once a nightmare but i also don't want to only grow one strain and thus have several ounces of only one strain to smoke after months of labor lol

I was using that net earlier to force bubba to grow long and stretch it. Of course, it didn't really stretch much but i'm still learning. I'm suprised that a short indica is taking forever to flower and the massive sativas are already showing brown hairs.

Brown hairs don’t mean a lot

You do get the odd indica that takes a long time.

It’s the trichs that matter on the buds not the sugar leaves

Good luck

Yea 4 strains in one room is tricky. I would try and find 4 with the same length cycle. I've grown dozens of strains over the years and all bar 2 were 8 weeks. I found the ones that were longer were not worth it in the end.
If you have plants at different heights I would recommend putting something under the short ones to prop them up so the canopy is at an even height. You'd be surprised how much difference it can make being even just a few inches lower than the canopy, also adjust the shade height often to keep the canopy in optimal range. If you test it with a lumen meter you'll see that the lux levels drop off sharply with every extra inch from the bulb.
Sometimes even with one strain you can get a random plant shorter than the rest and often propping it up early allows it to catch up to the others. Then you can remove the prop underneath.
It's probably a bit tricky for beginners but down the line you could look into grafting. Then you can have 4 strains on one plant. Particularly handy for your mother room so you only need one mother for all your strains.
