You walk this Earth long enough, you learn a thing or two. Want to know the best day to pop into the DMV or the county clerk's office when the line is usually wrapping around the building and find it almost empty? Show up on a Friday ahead of a 3 day weekend. I don't know why this is, only that it is. Not always, but usually.

It's not like you shouldn't have because licenses are way way better than whatever hobknob pseudo-ID they issue otherwise but yeah man. That's government. Their logic puts a dead blind 80 year old person that can realistically be shoveled across the line into... I guess the theoretical max for a D class in the US is ummm less than 10k lbs, no air brakes, I think no more than 6 passengers and what else? Whatever it is that's a mighty hammer at top speed haha.
Hey how are our international folk's licenses? What are common classes of them and such?

I seriously doubt he'd survive your winters. The sliders can survive a freezing pond if it doesn't freeze solid, I believe. They are mainly found in the South and of course sunny so cal where thousands (millions?) Have been released in the wild. There's a Park a couple miles away that is a sanctuary for sliders🤣

When I was a kid (1960's - fk I'm old) they use to sell them at the County Fair (why do they call it a "fair" when a beer is $10?) As well as the Green Anole. The lizard had a thread around its neck and a safety pin on the other end so we kids could pin them to our shirts while we jumped on and off of rides🤣

Unfortunately for the Anoles they haven't been as lucky as the turtles and haven't, as far as I know made a home here.

Something I learned from having to sit through traffic school once, California has a really easy system to remember. Class A = All vehicles, Class B = Buses and class C = Cars. Motorcycles are Class M.

Usually Tue & Thur 10 am-ish but last week it was packed on Tue morn. Live long enough and you'll get a handicapped placard and won't ever have to make an appointment or wait too long in lines. True story😉

Yup them placards come in handy and I go to a lot of music shows with a buddy who needs an ADA seat... That doesn't get you to the front of the house but it'll get you a seat to sit in when everybody else is general admission standing only. And flying, you just board whenever you're ready, no need to wait for that group bullshit. I'll get my own when I finally need one but I'm already enjoying the access through friends and family without having to deal with my own debilitating ailment... yet.

I really should have done this ages ago😉

No, NY is WAY more like East Germany. There is all of the california public money/GODDAMNSOCIALISM but also you have to deal with government employees who pattern themselves after the Stasi. I was one of them once. I did a whole bunch of stupid shit with absolutely no soul.

Edit- I bet there is something psychological in my urge to get miles away from humans and then play with things that go BANG. Government seems to do that to folks.
