If your login means anything, can't you grow legally in Illinois? If so put a camera out there and catch who it is and report them, it's still theft, and trespass, even if it's weed.
That's an online ID Ive had since I lived in Chicago 23 years, but have since moved to Maryland, where it's legal to grow two plants, which is what I've been doing. I dig your advice, so far as it goes. But with an arrest I presume the cops hold the evidence, so I'm looking for solutions that prevent the theft rather than pursue the thieves for punishment. Thanks for the ideas and encouragement!

No 1. I have 2 Pitbulls that rule the roost. You get past them, you deserve the plants! 😂 I also use auto shock, since you mentioned an electric outlet. So it runs silently around your plants. It’s as thick as dental floss, and will jolt the most experienced thief. It’ll stun them so bad and you will hear em bark and howl like a dog! Then comes the .40 and 9mm!! You can cut the circuit by just disconnecting it. My brother is a retired Mastwr Gunnery Sgt in the Marines. He has taught me many tricks. He has some that are crazy. Also a video camera that acknowledges their presence! Finally Flood lights that should never be triggered unless a person is present. A.I. is worth it in some areas
Love the auto shock idea! That's a new one for me. Thanks!!!

Great point and I didn't think of that.

Then cage them in behind locked gates, security lights, and cameras with signs posted. I used to advise three hurdles and most thieves will walk away and go somewhere else. You certainly don't want to hurt anyone as that opens up a whole new line of pain for you as well.

Losing ground every day. It's not even raining, just always moist. Truly living in a swamp. Every single one of my outside ladies has had budrot now and there's new spots daily. Flowering time is a guess, and i'm guessing at least 3 more weeks.

Oh noes, I DO want to hurt anyone trespassing on my property. It's not like they'll be telling anyone where they're going😂 I got a half acre and a shovel. Fk 'em😉

Finally made it to harvest for half of my outdoor photos. Harvested 2 Chocolate Gelato × Okie from @Variety719 and 1 Chocolate Thai ( the chocolate theme this year wasn't planned, just happened that way). Still have 2 Death Coast ×Gojo and 1 Mazar-i-sharif that still need another few days . This is my 5th year growing and it's already my best outdoor harvest by far. A combination of excellent weather and i finally have half a clue what I'm doing, not to mention the great genetics.

Congrats, sure feels good to have shit hanging after 6 months of stressing and babying these gals…with good genetics you can not know wtf you’re doing and it’ll still turn out good!

Funny you should mention bug issues. I was just coming on here to post pics of spider mites from my greenhouse grow. The greenhouse definitely helps but still battle caterpillars and found these guys on plant i harvested Saturday.

Possibly spider might nymphs! They go through four stages! Or if they move fast, probably beneficial mite of some kind! Hard to differentiate all of the mites!😁
