You aren't kidding. Back in the 80s - when I was in college - I had an apt where utils were included. There was a walk-in closet that I separated and had a 1000w metal halide light and a 400w sodium vapor light in a pure hydroponic set up - old fashioned timers and everything. I had northern lights seeds from Norway and was published in High Times to teach how to ID males from females as soon as possible - this was WAY before autos and photoperiod seeds. I had 3 plants in flower and three in veg at any time and it paid for my room and board 😅

And one of the reasons I've stayed with Master Blend all these years. My tap is 7.0pH and 220ppm. Add master Blend full strength and it's 5.8 and 800+ppm. And at $0.02 a gallon and me running both weed and tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, basil, etc etc etc in coco this has worked like a charm😉

But, isn't that for hydro? Can it be used for soil too? NVM I just reread your post and you use coco. LOL

I don’t know if you have this or not, but , My well bladder tank is in the basement and next to it, is a spigot to test the well water before the softening system. You are correct, we have a spigot where the water line comes into the basement that the county required when we had to have a new well installed. They used it to get a water sample to do testing. It passed, thank goodness. 🙂

I bought a ph tester when I first started growing and used it twice. It's been sitting on the porch for the last few years and I did not think it would still work, but it did! It has powder to mix with deionized water for calibration, so I did that with the 7.0 package. Read within range, so I tried the well water.

Excellent! I’m not an indoor grower (at this time, maybe some day), so I have zero input to give you, but I’m glad you are doing this. I’m learning and following your activity (and your expense 😊).
I just prefer being outside a lot. And enjoy the challenge of Mother Nature in my outdoor grow.

Me too. But it gets boring during the winter, and I usually kill indoor plants (neglect), so I see this as a challenge.
Honestly Eternal, you have soooooo much now that you really don't have to grow anything for years. LOL

That's what I heard....they themselves will recreate the black market, once again thru greed.

I'm so glad I have the chance to grow legally. I've already saved around 2500-3000$ from not buying this past year. And enjoying the smoke even more than what I was buying. Who knows what they do to their weed. I know what's been done to what I've grown, and what I'm smoking.

You can use this in soil, like once every other week. I use to use it for my tomatoes in the ground. Now I grow tomatoes in coco and water (fertigate) 3-4 x's a day.

Mind blower: Coco is Hydro😉 Just like Kracky, just a different type of hydro.

Master Blend is very versatile as I can use it for herbs at half strength, use less N (calcium) in late flower as it is a 3 part solution or many different combinations for specific plants.

And the price is unreal at $0.02 a gallon (when purchasing 5lb trio) and it comes in a powder form so you’re not paying for water.

I haven't found anything that compares.

I just checked Amazon and they show 3 different bags of fertilizer. What do you recommend for weed?

Exactly right! You hear stories about weed chopped too soon for the sake of product on the shelves quickly, PGR weed, chemicals and pesticides, and other unsavory practices…I think dispo weed tastes like chemicals- like burning plastic in a campfire. At least as a grower, I know what I’m consuming.

I've bought them all. The small one, 2.5 lbs to try it and I usually purchase 12.5 or 25 lb. these days. The 2.5 lb is 1 lb MB, 1 lb calcium and .5 lb epsom, the same ratio used to make full strength.

I bought them separately thinking I could get a better price as epsom is dirt cheap BUT they charge more for buying them individually so it's better to just buy the 3 together.

That's the one. They do make some other NPK's but I've never tried them. There are some discussions on the Farm about MB. Just saw this one

I need to stop trying to make this easier. I saw a post on @JIMKSI64 s thread about finding a scale to weigh the pot to help determine when to water. Found this wireless postal scale on the big Am.... and had to have it. LOL
Don't know if it will help but it seems to work. Oh, and it's a wired/wireless contraption.
It will run on 2 aaa batteries, but can also be plugged it.
