This plant is a an autoflower called white crystal and I hate it. No issues til half way through veg, then it was getting brown dots, mostly on the tips and edges of the leaves, so I thought, light burn, maybe a deficiency, no big deal, then it was early flower and leaves were turning yellow quick, but again, I thought, ah, definitely a nutrient hungry plant, then brown dots were spreading randomly. But it’s mostly quarantined anyways, so I let it go… it’s like, a month past breeder schedule and barely into flower and dying. But I’m worried the leaf issue is something more insidious. I don’t see any bugs and I’ve looked.

Let me know what I’m dealing with here!

(organic soil grow, small tent, 100w light, 2 fans and exhaust)

We'd need some info on soil, nutes, watering and Ph.

Looks like calcium spots. Either it's light in the soil or the soil pH is too low for uptake.

You can scratch a little bit of gypsum in before your next watering but if you have a pH pen it might be worth sticking in some runoff and make sure it's not too low out of range for calcium.

Looks a little wet, tops are clawing but if this was right after a watering it's normal.

Youre not too far out of whack at all, but I would be worried about finishing that thing with a 100w light. Too much canopy depth going on for a 100w to handle even with some lens throwing. What it will cost you is bud density and risk of herming on lowers. Good luck and keep us posted but I'd be curious to know if it turned out to be ph or just hunger.

I’ve been cheaping out on getting a ph pen, but yeah maybe that’s it. Either way I can definitely add some extra Cal so I’ll give that a shot. Hmm. Didn’t think I’d need a different light for this girl but luckily I grabbed a 250w recently so I’ll swap it out. Thanks!

The lighter colored plating is probably mag on top of that too. When it's pH, brown splotches can come for calcium and magnesium when the environment is too low, and manganese when it's too high. If there's calcium in your blend you shouldn't see that, unless it's not accessible to the plant. It's not always a lack of food.

I'm hunching at a Ph issue. It's a safe bet to remove heavily brown spotted and dried/dying affected leaves, just in case.

The plant looks stressed. Nutrients and pH are interrelated, so could be either or both. It's close to the age when stretching and flowering nutrients (P, K, Mg, Ca) become more important but there are signs of N deficiency, as well. Overwatering also might be a problem. It would help to know about the light, temperature, and humidity settings.

How long did it veg? If it was a month more than normal, it might not be an autoflower.

Cal mag and let it go 3 days between watering in amended soil.

we need dice that one says like too much or too little or some problem per side, then another one has a nutrient or infection, so we can roll them when there is a question with no info.

That would help, except when there is more than one problem. I think that may be true for this one.

Alright, this is right up my alley — word-dice for cannabis growing chaos. Two D6s, each with themed sides, each with one comedy/chaos side baked in. You can roll them manually or tell me “Roll the grow dice” and I’ll give you a randomized result anytime.
Here’s the setup:

Cannabis Growing Dice (2× D6 Word Dice)

A lovely tool for deciding:
“Is my plant suffering… or am I suffering?”

D6 #1 — The “What’s Wrong” Die

(Each face is the topic or “issue area”)
  1. Nitrogen
  2. Watering
  3. Light Intensity
  4. Humidity / VPD
  5. Soil / Root Health
  6. CHAOS: ‘Bro your plant just wants to vibe’

D6 #2 — The “How Bad Is It” Die

(Each face describes the direction or “condition”)
  1. Too Little
  2. Too Much
  3. Wrong Timing
  4. Wrong Source
  5. You Misdiagnosed It
  6. CHAOS: ‘It’s the government’s fault, obviously’

Example Rolls

(Just so you see how hilarious this gets)
  • Roll: Nitrogen + Wrong Timing
→ “Classic. You fed N the one week you shouldn’t have. Again.”
  • Roll: Soil/Root Health + Too Little
→ “Your soil is basically diet potting mix. Plant is filing a grievance.”
  • Roll: CHAOS + CHAOS
→ “Your grow tent is now officially a sovereign nation.”

If you want, I can also:

  • Make this into a printable chart
  • Make it as an actual flowchart
  • Add more dice (pests, nutrients, equipment failure, paranoia events)
  • Add more comedy sides
  • Add artwork or icons once image tools cooperate
  • Save this as a reusable “Grow Dice” command
Just tell me if you want expansions or tweaks.

LOL!

I’ve lost track. This wouldn’t be the first time I got an auto that was actually a photo, but it grew at the same pace as 2 other autos then slowed down to a crawl once it entered flower.

Definitely wasn’t over watered. Under watering more likely. And I gave it extra Nitrogen Already. The soil should buffer pH but maybe this plant likes super acidic.

100w light has been 18-24” from canopy, set to 70%, humidity has been under 50 consistently. I’d say averaging closer to 42. Temps around 72 consistently.

LOL!
I dunno bout my plant, but I just wanna vibe, everything is absolutely the government’s fault, and I will forge a sovereign nation by any means necessary.
