I’m running FD9600 by Phlizon in a 1.20x1.20x2.0 m tent. This is overkill but I dim it and have good exhaust fan.
These were my first 2 photos. Very happy with the piña mints pheno. And the northern lights was a clone. I topped all colas many times. Flower was triggered because I was at work and can’t rely on anyone and also have plugs I can control with my phone but I need WiFi to use… anyways been trying to reveg but it went to a new home and she’s doing well .

Your experiment has been done since growing began; and all with the same outcome - smaller buds.

The "energy" you speak of comes from the fan and sugar leaves through photosynthesis.
Leaves don’t take energy from the buds — they feed the buds.

They provide:
Sugars (carbohydrates) produced from CO₂, light, and water
Starches stored temporarily in leaf tissues
Mobile nutrients (like N, P, K, Mg) that can be moved during senescence

The plant does not pull resources out of the bud.
It pulls from the leaves, especially late in flower.

Buds are sinks (places that receive resources),
Leaves are sources (places that produce and donate resources).
comes from the fan and sugar leaves through photosynthesis. They don't take from the bud, they nurish it, co2, sugars and starches, and also mobile nutrients through senescene...

Senescence is the natural aging process in plants where mobile nutrients (nitrogen, magnesium, potassium, etc.) are pulled from older leaves and moved into developing buds or newer growth.

I wasn't trying to humiliate you, I was adding to your "extensive knowledge and experience" so you don't sound ignorant after making such bold claims.

Congradulations on the 3 boys, I'm willing to bet there's rarely a dull moment in your house!

Sea of green started as a Dutch term meaning just like it sounds, many "popsicle stick" plants all packed next to each other. I think nowadays it refers more to any flat even canopy that fills the growing area. (I may be wrong)

Gotcha. And yeah I planned to try not taking the fan leafs off and just the larf off too but I’m trying all kinds of different things and seeing what happens.. I’m just in a situation for a month and I’ll be back on my feet in January.

I appreciate you though. I’m not stuck in any ways .

every time I used the word cylaxe I meant cylaxes. Yes that is what they are right now..

I wouldn’t consider myself arrogant. I’m willing to learn. And I had all the knowledge that you just laid out. Yeah maybe some misspellings and mispronunciations.. but it was there.

I am 33 and I have 3 beautiful boys. My oldest will be 14 in a few weeks.

They might be “cute” but the genetics don’t miss. Nor my techniques..

Also the coaching hasn’t officially started. I’ve only gotten some pointers . He’s coaching a full run in a few weeks when the eternal cup starts with a side by side comparison of my own.

It’s impossible to humiliate me. I’m in it for the passion of growing and growing with others.

Cotyledons - I definitely spelled this wrong cuz I searched the word he used and it didn’t correct it so not sure if both terms are correct or not ?

SOG - sea of green, bet but what does that mean

Yes now that you mention it I do remember hearing larf .. I heard it and researched it a bit . And adopted my own slang by accident .. I do like the term flarp though
Sog instead of growing 4 plants in a growbox you grow 30 you flower them as soon as you can and you get something similar to what you have now just a lot fatter but they are all single branch plants.gives more but usually illigal in most legal countries

I want to experience things just as much as I research them. Experience has a different feel and understanding than just knowing or researching.

I gotcha.

I gotta try everything I learn no matter what . The experience gives a deeper understanding.

I’ll be growing for the rest of my life. . My oldest has 4 years to join the family business. Following that’s my other 2 . I got time.
If your not willing to learn from others why the forum join? Just to record your progress or lonly wanting to get friends? Or to brag?....

This grow is my 1st grow using nets, double at that. Only my 2nd grow after 23 year hiatus, & having never used tents, this is a 4x8. I would consider my current grow a type of sog (scrog?)... Regulators, 25 days from flip to 12/12...

btw, I agree that they don't need topping or torture. These have never been either

only 5 plants - 3 on left & 2 on the right 👊👊

Double scrog was a game changer for me. Single fucked me first time i put it too low the tops where holding each other as soon as i removed one plant the other one colapsed

Very beautiful . I am impressed. Not everyone makes it there first go much less to that stature. I started with 4 autos . And just kept getting free auto seeds when buying equipment. So I have paid nothing for seeds since day 1 .

Btw, I'm old school and consider myself very good at this craft, but I still make mistakes like everyone else. I'm in an experimental phase atm trying to mash old ways and new

Humility, empathy and compassion all go hand in hand. They are not weaknesses, they are what make character, imo

28 plants of which this poor thing
Hello all im a new grower with extensive knowledge and amazing grows interested in networking

is one? Do NOT make any growing statements🙄

If you've come here to learn, welcome. If you've come to share what you've learned you need to learn first. I don't care what someone told you, until you can put that information together and you can grow and produce quality bud grow after grow then you will have something to share, but not before.

28 plants? That's adorable🤣

Not my 1st rodeo... my 2nd grow after a very long time off, 1st was last winter after 22 years. I can only grow in winter, it's too hot in the summer; and I'm limited to 12 plants. I used to grow indoor gorilla, averaging 30+ lbs every 80 days. I am using cheap and auction bought equipment now and experimenting. These plants started in red solos for a contest. They didn't fit with my plans or setup, so they were up-potted to 1gal nursery pots (3 qt actual) 3 days before flip to 12/12. This is my 1st time using coco to see if it will work in my system.

Dope. Haven’t done any solo cup challenges yet. Would like to.
