The ir also helps resin and potency production. The additionals definitely help against stretch as well as a better yield, also helps the THC mature a little more evenly in my opinion. Some try to say it makes it flower faster, but I haven't seen that, that's is a myth from what I have seen other than it helping the stack on the buds and potency. You are correct to use them during the different phases of flowering. I have mine turn on a few hours after my main lights turn on, then two hours before lights out. I haven't tried running them the whole day because I have heard that it isn't necessary to have them on the whole day.
I have mine on a separate timer, they come on about a half hour after lights on, they stay on for 1 hour then off for 3 then on for 1 off for 3 u til the light cycle ends, pretty much how I’ve always ran them since I got them.

I wouldn't suggest running them the whole lights on schedule I did one and saw no real difference, problem is really tthat most of them use UV-A which isint as potent of a UV, UV-B if they are true UV-B I’ve heard can be used to prevent and eliminate diseases like PM etc, some farms use them mounted on trailers they pull through the fields, they do it just after dark and just before the sun comes up I think for as little as 5 minutes

From what little research I’ve done I hear it is legit, problem is you wanna be careful and cover your eyes and skin if you’re in the tent or grow rim when they are on, it is intense UV after all. Still not anywhere near as dangerous as constant exposure to UV-C but worth the protection if you’re in the rooms or tents constantly

I have three from medigrow in my main room, 100w uv/fr and I should clarify, I only run mine for a total of 2 1/4 hours out of the day. I just run the main lights first and last. Do your lights do the half hour wake up if you want them too? I tried that out for a bit, kinda saw a little difference for a bit with power consumption and no real difference with the plants, but I did notice my buds weren't as dense as when it was just straight to full lighting. Not much of a difference.

I mean she wakes up in the dark if you ever had a night camera inside.soo in my opinion no need for wake up light.

Never had a need for a camera, always thought it would be cool to watch a time lapse of my plants though. I have spent enough time around grows to see how they react throughout their lives. On a side note I could see how a camera could help with watching how they react to your environmental control, and watching them take naps. I have had a couple strains through out time that wake up with light. But most the time I go in they are already perked up, when I used to do nft hydro, I would watch the plants take multiple naps when they were growing, it's not like the droop all the way down, but you can just tell when one would be taking a nap and in a half hour to hour it would perk right back with the rest. Then in the middle of the night you could really see them napping if you went in there for some reason.

Mine go hard to sleep within an hr or two after lights out and wake up 1.5hrs before lights come on (this is night vision, I don't open the tent during dark cycle for any reason)

I have mine in a room with a sealed door, I stay out of there during night, but I have had to go in a few times when I forget something stupid like my phone or keys or whatever. I won't use a flashlight or whatever in there if I do, I have this green thing, it like a glow stick but battery operated. It doesn't hurt them when I am there for less than a minute. And I can tell you push your plants hard, and I 👏🏼 you sir.

I erred saying "any reason"... If I leave my phone or something like that, I'll get it... A (regular) flashlight, glow stick or cell phone light now and then won't hurt them. General rule of thumb is: "nothing stronger than the light of a full moon", especially prolonged.

And thank you
💪 😎

I have read something like 15-20 minutes of indirect light is when it can become harmful for the plant. Idk about direct light, I think it said something like 5-15 minutes for direct light to affect the plants. I will have to go back and find it again in my notes. But I generally just keep it blacked out in there.

yes both the G5000 and the SE3000 are both using sunrise / sunset mode, 25 minutes each, it shouldn't affect density as the plant would take about that much time to wake up and really start absorbing the light, so really its more conditioning. more likely to be a variance between genomes even between the seeds in the same bag, unless its repeat runs from clone its hard to tell what effect its really having. would probably need 10 or more consecutive clone runs off the same mother to really be able to tell. would be a lone, but fun experiment if you have a mother you really like

nah i run cameras 24/7 in 3 of my tents have for a few years now. like i said above though, without solid data from multiple runs we have no real evidence of it having any negative or positive effect besides the sun does it lol

time lapses are extremely fun to watch, whole reason i have the cameras lol

i open mine if needed, never had an issue, i just try not to have too intense of ling, just some ambient back light, ocassionally i need to water before lights on duet to work schedule especially once i flip to flower lol. the cameras are a nice addition i love mine, then the moisture sensors i know if i need to water or if i can just keep walking lol

what is it figured to be? i think i read a while back it would have to be more than 5 minutes of constant light above 5 watts of lumens comparably that begins the wake up process, i believe the light output of a full moon is only equivalent to 2-3 watts of useable light to the plant which is why even under a bright full moon you have no issues with stable strains
