I only have experience with Serious Seeds AK47. Shit was the best back in the day. Massive hard nugs that would light you up 👍🏼

Think the key is "was very good". As with many strains, I would think it could be hard to still find some of the 90's AK. As would I grow it, sure why not I'd take a shot. You can find cheap Ak genetics. Just think it would be hard to find the same genetics that have not been bread out.

lol
so i can take that as a bigass no?
If you like generic weed from the commercial market, go for it.

Lets skip the questions and go straight to the chemistry.
Commercial product Ak47:

Terpene profile - cluster 2.

Genetic consistency between suppliers - not good.

So what does that mean? It means that the terpene profile of ak47 is the same as roughly one third of cannabis you get from the commercial suppliers. Cannabinoids + terpenes = effect. Same effects as Blue Dream, but Blue Dream is is more genetically consistent between different suppliers, which means you are likely to get Blue Dream as described with the right terpene profile. Ak47 has significant genetic inconsistencies between different suppliers. So buying the name Ak47 is a higher risk of getting a random seed than Blue Dream.

For the generic terpene profile of cluster 2 that the commercial market offers, you are better off with buying the Blue Dream name than the AK47 name as it's chemical makeup is the same thing just a different label. will be indistinguishable in flavor, aroma, and effect.

If you want something beyond the 3 terpene profiles of the commercial offerings, then 👊 I am with you.

Don't buy hype. Don't shop names and claims and descriptions, which say nothing about what you are getting. Use a chemistry first perspective. Or you'll be made a fool of. They prey upon the uninformed.

nice copy and paste, you ever even tried it?
Pretty much everyone here has tried it. Its 33% of commercial weed. Imagine about a third of the people in this forum are probably using/growing that particular chemovar right now. I wouldnt waste my time or dirt on it. I have better options. Do you?

Have never grown original AK but just started a grow of @variaty719 Death Coast × AK-47. Only 3 weeks in veg but all his crosses I've grown have been excellent so i have high expectations.
Further Blending polyhybrids together results in less desirable amalgamation hybrids, more generic than the hybrid parents it comes from. Thats pollen chuckers that do that.

"Excellent" compared to what exactly?

Whats the criteria for excellent weed?

Its fine to have a personal subjective opinion based on your personal experience, but at back it up with something. Saying an amalgamation weed is excellent without saying why can't be taken seriously.

If you look at my post about the commercial junk, you see I backed it all up with evidence, facts. Do us the same courtesy.

Well I don't think @orggrwr was comparing it to anything, rather just voicing his opinion!
Most people around here are hobbyist and don't need hard facts and data to back up how they feel about a strain. Why all the animosity? Are you a 'breeder'? Can you shoots us a few pics of what you have growing?
Cheers 🍻

I think this is great information that we can not use.

I myself do not have access to the chemical analysis of terp profiles. I do not have access to strains of the old school and I have no intention of pheno hunting 200 at a time.
So basically you have spent time working on cannabis for nothing. Zero.
You have no information that is germane to our situation as hobby growers.
Congratulations. On your time here at the Farm.
Leave now and come back when you have a solution that can be reached by us. Start a line of old school we can buy.

One think is very clear to me.
This is more internet bullshit.

Some websites list the terpene profiles for you because they paid for the testing. Some places do provide the terpene profile when you go to buy it. The point is, its need to know information that you should be asking for and pushing/fighting for. Then you don't have to shop on bs descriptions and names that tell you nothing about the plant or end product.

Just because you feel defeated doesn't mean everyone is going to lay down with you, pay for each grow for a random seed of the same 3 products with a different label on it.

You don't have to be one of those types. I'm not.

You know with your breadth of knowledge as an expert witness you could stop the fraud all on your own.
You stated in an open chat that some 30 % of pot is all the same and yet they get away with calling it different strains.
This is called fraud.
Fraud can not be mitigated by including information of a technical nature in the transaction that shows that the product or service is not as described. Doing so becomes conspiracy.

So as you have done well shielding yourself from the " fight " as you say by not publicly stating the names of the breeders how about your join the fight there internet guy. Lead the way. Call em out and get some lawyer to pro bono your lawsuit exposing the lies.
You stated I have given up.
No just perhaps a bit more seasoned in the realities of our situation.
I have not chosen strains based on much as I am a really new grower. But I do know that Cannabis products help me deal with extreme pain and have gotten me off long term opioids. It has gone from an arrestable offence to a product on a shelf in 1/2 my lifetime. Our fight seems to be working.
Yours has yet to start.
