FYI I’ve used the 1/4 lb bags for the last 4 years and not sure if it’s because I accidentally ordered the window version instead of opaque this year, but there seems to be a lot more material above the zipper - which makes it a lot harder to get a solid zip seal. I’ve had to put the bag on a hard surface in order to get the zipper to seal. I also had 1 of the zippers come loose from the bag (and I’m wise to needing to hold the zipper against the sides when opening). Only opened the bag 5-6 times 🤷🏼‍♂️ (when I couldn’t find the cheap little hydrometer through the window 😄.) When the zipper detaches it’s almost imperceptible, but can create a small air gap. So just a heads up to double check that the zipper is nice and secure if you’re not sealing. (I order new bags every year, so not an old bag issue.)
I use the window bags so I can see the hygrometer, I just store the bags in a dark place, but I've not had a problem with the zippers at all.
Were you maybe sent child resistant zippers? Maybe that's why they are hard to seal?

I use 1 oz and 1/2 oz bags though so maybe it's something with the bigger size or a bad run of them.

Did you order directly from Grove Bags website or authorized retailer?
I've seen some pretty good fakes online.

I would reach out to them about the zippers, maybe they will replace them.

Only bag I had a zipper issue with was their 1/2 oz "Glassess Pouch" with the 5 track zipper, came right off the bag.
I use it for what I'm currently smoking and refill it when it gets low so it's being opened and closed several times a day.
The replacement I purchased is holding up good so far.

I order from them (and curse their shipping each time 😄). I’ve had one other bag do the same over the years. The zipper glue just comes undone. They made an instructional video a few years back explaining how to open the bag by holding the zip with your thumbs against each side. When the zipper comes loose you might not even notice as it still zips fine. Just that 4 months later you’ll find out it hasn’t actually been sealed. So good practice to gently pull apart the plastic above the zipper and visual inspect that the bag is sealed across the entirety.

You can see how much more bag material is above the zipper compared to an older bag (right). I think it just makes it harder to get your two fingers down to the zipper when using one hand and zip it closed in one motion. I guess I can just trim the plastic up top, so not a huge issue. But noticed while filling that multiple times I wasn’t getting a good seal and had to lay it down onto a table and press the zipper closed.

Interesting, I'll have to go look and snap a pic of mine and compare.

I now order Grove Bags from Happy Hydro, the size I use are 25 cents cheaper and shipping is only $5.

loved when i found this

I only grow for myself and stay a few months ahead. Grove Bags are fine for the short time I store herb. Between my own consumption and adult kids who seem to be able to smell a harvest at fifty miles herb never sits for more than a few months.

Oh wow, I didn't know about thoses!! I'm ordering some right away !! my last batch was ruined by mold 😢

I buy all mine on line on Amazon . I make sure they say terp lock on the bag and the humidity between 58-63. Plus a window I but 1 pond to gift they are 50 pc for like 25 bucks. I also buy 1/2 pound bags. The one pound bags take too much room and are very expensive. Prices vary on 1/2 pound but seem the best cost effective option. I do not reuse the bags unless the weed literally just went in and the I decarbed and made pills or oil. If it was less than the time it needs to properly cure I may reuse it. If it been in there for months I throw them out once gone. I am scared of pin holes. If anyone has cats keep them away or bad kitties will eat thru your weed grove bag and all.

That's mighty generous to use them bags for that. Kudos. (meant that as a compliment)

I saw it on another thread, (might have been here..lol) but them bag sealer deals work really well. I found that after one use the zippers start falling apart so now I just seal them. This one works perfect. -----> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08YXLVWSZ?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_3&th=1
