Please im not sure if im overthinking the one at the front (wedding cake ) is 3 days into the flush
The rest havent had a flush as there harvest timelime is a week longer
But not sure if im overthinking wether they are all going to be shit
I took some off and dried but after 3 days it smells like grass google says its normal but not sure something to do with “ chlorophyll” i just want to know if any expereinced growers can tell if theyre okay ?
I am on week 7 and 4 days in a 7-9 week flower time
Any advice on exaclty what to do would really help me

The first one in the vid might need to be trimmed well to get rid of the few burnt leaves but it’s not like it’s crap it’s just the trim from that one I probably wouldn’t use for stuff like bubble hash/kief or cakes. The actual buds will be fine once trimmed.

The others look good & I would use the trim if you do that thing.

you can get some real strong bubble from trim stronger that bud as it’s just pure trichs,that aside

It will taste like grass when it’s not ready as it gets closer to harvest it shouldn’t.

It will also taste different once dried & again tastes different when cured. It will taste like grass if you cut it to early so bear that in mind.

As for chlorophyll always let your water stand for 24 hrs to “ gas off “ if you haven’t been doing that start now & you should be ok

They look good just don’t harvest to early albeit your close without looking at the trichs you could be about 2 weeks away

nothing should be ready before at least 9 weeks 8.5 at a push

Btw the slight burn is nothing to worry about it happens & the buds aren’t affected so rest your worries alls looking as good enough to get a nice harvest from it.

Weeding cake once cured has a amazing berry taste ( mine from sensi seeds does ) it’s like every berry under the sun ; nice smoke tbh

@Newguy420 I just harvest one and as yours mine also smelled grassy 3rd day. Not first time i noticed it but now you say it i will see if it's always like that, or only if plant was not good. Cos he last i harvest wasn't. I mostly remember when whole apartment smell of weed harvest day and neighbors start asking me questions. Lucky 5 out of 10 in my stairway are confirmed weed smokers or ex weed smokers last 5 i don't know

No surprise why I love Ice Cream Cake so much, it's a cross of Wedding Cake and Gelato 33.

What medium are you growing in and what nutrients are you using that you've got to flush them out and not let the plant have any at the end? It's not a universal requirement, that's why I figured I'd ask.

I have heard that flushing is a myth but as a newbie i thought id try it
Im in coco coir and i was ising boost and canna a n b but now its only a n b that im using but im stressed and thinking to flush now for 3-4 daya then chop and hang once the medium is dry. I cant cope with the stress no more typical females stressing me out haha

If you want to flush, go for it, but IMHO and as someone with a botany/plant physiology degree, it’s pretty much a waste. I know of no other crop, including tobacco, that is flushed. It’s really counterintuitive to withhold nutrients at the time the plant is bulking up and producing THC/cannabinoids. Certainly the nutrient uptake slow towards the end, so cut back a bit if you want, but don’t starve them.

For triggering a particular stress response... maybe. On the bottom of my "to try" list.

Flushing is an old term that’s being used incorrectly.

It was a term used when you actually flushed a plant which requires 3x the amount of water vs the pot size. It was last resort for a dramatically over feed and had nothing to do harvesting

Probably why it’s called a myth by some.

Personally I just withhold the ferts during the last 10 days.

I am not keen at all on weed that’s been fed up til harvest it normally gives me a headache.

While some some smoke tobacco thats not flushed fair enough it’s not like it’s gonna do much to stop cancer.

The grow community is really touchy about the vocabulary. Flushing is for soil-less and diluting is for soil but they're the same thing with the same goal, remove or reduce EC.

There should be no need to flush anything if you're feeding your plant correctly. At the end there's a low nutrient demand so you're feeding them low nutrients. So at that point what the heck are you flushing... or what do you THINK you're flushing? The last 24 hours in coco should run water only, that's the closest thing to pre harvest "flush" that even makes any sense to me.

For the reason you mention you do what you do, I'd suggest trying stem split or stem flow restriction... or even the most extreme version of it... Fully cut the plant stalk just above the soil, drop it up with a stake an keep it in the tent with the light on a few extra days. Some life processes will continue including resin production, and it will use the remaining nutes in the stem system to do it.

Flushing isn't without merit in all situations, but there's other means to achieve the same result.

No different than outdoors. Not a damn thing I can do. The plant will take what it needs thru the roots, till it can't, then take from the leaves as it's life cycle come to an end.

As has been alluded to, there’s two things that are called flushes. One has merit, the other not so much ( I’m being kind). A flush to remove salt build-up from feeding synthetic nutrients to alleviate lock outs is certainly a good idea (if you have a salt lockout. It’s done by watering three times the volume of the pot, that will remove built up salts from the soil. The other thing known as a flush is to feed only water, no nutrients for several days to a couple weeks before harvest. That accomplishes nothing except starving the plant when it’s in its final push for terps and THC.

I'm interested to know more about the splitting of the stem theory.
Are the GH nutes supposed to be flushed? How about a good rinse😁

Thats not settled. That big court case back then, carefully avoided talking about additive (synthetic chemicals) .
Normal industry tactic.
Makes most look in the wrong direction.

Thats also why they made it illegal to write "organic" or "without additives" on tobacco products in EU.
For our safety of course and to not give some the idea that it was more healthy (less unhealthy).
Depriving us the choice.

Actually there is an old study somewhere well buried, that shows smoking 1 g tobacco (clean) a day, is healthy. Same is said about weed.
So i take that cancer part with a grain of salt.
It more used as a clever control mechanism and even as cancel culture like.

Smoker since i was 13, 60 in some months, and i also early on noticed that filters were made of plastic making them more unhealthy.

I don't out role that smoke without chemicals, can cause cancer but not in that extend.
The old look the other way tactic

That's funny, I'm running a Gelato33 & Wedding Cake cross right now ..so it's Ice Cream Cake? Interesting. Now that I remember the Wedding Cake side might be a cross, Okie Wedding Cake .. so yeah, some confusion on my part, but sounds good to me, Ice Cream Cake! 🥳
