Some super cropping and cleaning up happening this morning. The big pot is still two plants. One was topped when I left for vacation and one was left alone. I still don't know what I'm going to do with the smaller plant, I may just leave it alone.

The 3 volunteers are already twice as big as the GG4s. I should cull them but for now I'll wait in case the glue craps out.

So, funny story this morning...

Yesterday I reprogrammed the rez timer back to the pre vacation settings. Except I was an hour off on one of my shut-off times. The pump ran for an hour and 7 seconds. The rez was probably empty after 2 minutes. It was full so that's 5 gallons on the floor of the tent to clean up now. On the bright side my medium is nice and reset now!!

C'est la vie! 💩

Oh no!! And in this weather it can't be fun cleaning that up. Yikes.
Nope, I'm not getting an automatic waterer, I do that kind of thing(mess up) regularly.

You're very versed in all this stuff and I've a question for ya.
When it comes to PH, in soil, I take it the plants like consistent 6.0-6.5. What about my potted plants on the patio outdoors in the summer.
My well water is around 7.0 and I figure the rain is around 5.5-6.0, so how does that affect the plant, or does it?

Oh, and when would be better to add fertz? Before a rain or during a dry spell with well water?

I never bothered thinking about all this before I tried growing indoors.

There's two mechanisms that effect soil pH. One is the buffers in the soil and the other is controlled by the plant with root exudates. Most of the heavy lifting is done by the buffers in the soil. They hold positive and negative ocharged ions and release them to neutralize acid or alkalinity introduced into the soil. That's why 5.5 pH rainwater is no problem.

Think of the soil as having baking soda in it, and when you add something acidic like rain or plant food it's like putting vinegar in. They react and neutralize each other. What you end up with pH wise depends on how much of each you put in.

To be overly simple, decomposing organic stuff in soil make the acids and weathering minerals make it alkaline. We try to balance this but tip the scales slightly acidic for certain plants that like it.

Yes, and then small adjustments are made in the rhizosphere by the roots of the plant for specific needs.

Part of the reason I dislike scrogs so much is the inability to move plants around. I'm getting the feeling that maybe the seedlings are in a little stale micro climate because of the way everything is positioned. They're a little too laggy for my taste at this stage and are going to complicate things going forward. I have to dig out an old small fan from the garage and see if it helps.

I bumped up the vpd a little and the fresh rez is a little over 900 ppm and pH is yellow hahaha 😆

Armor si - 4 tsp/5 gal
Micro - 4 tsp/5 gal
Grow - 4 tsp/5 gal
Bloom - 2 tsp/5 gal

Sneaking a peek when the UVB is on 😎

I just give them a tiny hit for now. Enough to stress them a little and remind them who's boss. 5 min a light cycle. I'll ramp it up to the usual 20-30 min by the end of flower.

Okay are you pointing at me? 😉 Yes I rotated one of my plants on a wireless display table. Did it make any difference? Well, not really. Will I do it again? Probably not. LOL

Now what to do with the rotating display table, hmmm.

I have a lazy susan for revolving a single big plant in my 31x31 if I ever grow that way.

Do you think the UVB, the way you use it, has any effect on bugs or disease?
