Grown since 2025! Backyard shed edition!

A peek inside my rez at the waterfall aeration. It runs for 3 minutes every 30. Saves a lot of money not having an air stone on 24/7 and it oxygenates the water more efficiently. ๐Ÿ’š

I just recently read somewhere that air stones don't actually aerate the water, they break the surface tension to allow air to mix at the surface. Wasn't a scientific source so I don't know how actuate it is.

And I vote YES on keeping the little ones. But then, I have a problem with culling. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I had followed a guy on another blog who had been running 1/4 inch air lines with no stones. Gave great big balls of air in his res. He said he had a o2 sensor for it but did not replace it after verifying it worked and the thing stopped working.
I used open lines in my hydro.
That failed.

Yeah almost none of the oxygen in the bubble makes it into the water until it breaks the surface. @Florida_Mike had a great explanation in his thread. This is the way I learned 30 years ago on big ebb and flow systems and I was taught it was to eliminate the noise from the air compressors. The ones you need for 50 gallon reservoirs are loud and no bueno when shit was scary illegal.

I'm not worried about the noise anymore just the kWh. Plus it makes mixing nutes a breeze.

Light, air and salty water.

I feed plants, not microbes.

GH trio for 30 years.

Thank you for the kind words ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป
I feels! Well you are doing something right for sure!
I need to try out some general hydroponics stuff, do you use anything else? Like any cal mag or anything?
I know you had posted a little table of how much per 5 gallon pot, you had something called armor si,

I stopped using calmag when I moved because my tap water went from 70 ppm to 300.

I tinker with diamond nectar (humic and fulvic acids) and floralicious (kelp, molasses) sometimes in flower to be fancy but they aren't necessary.

This all you need:

Some real nice n healthy plants. I love seeing someone use a net or screen. Spreads them out. Screens are my preferred way to grow so when I see a net or screen I stop..lol. Nice setup. This small setup should provide well for ya.

Im currently growing in a 2x4. I started some younger plants in there so I dont expect them to fill the tent but they are doing okay. I like the compact 2x4.

Good to know, I collect and use rain water so I donโ€™t get those kinds of numbers but interesting!
And if you donโ€™t mind me asking, at what phase or how often would you add the silicate supplement? ๐Ÿ‘€
Iโ€™ve been wanting to try other runs with other nutrients as a comparison of what Iโ€™m doing now.
I started with fox farm trio, it went well but kinda costly at bigger scales, then I mixed fox farm with natural home made compost tea, (which is a fancy way of me saying , my wife and I put scraps in a bucket, we add water , wait a week, then add that to the plants) lol
This has been going great tbh, recently we only do compost tea, but Iโ€™m on the fence of like seeing what other nutrients can do to have multiple grow experiences using different solutions

That's great that you can collect rain water! We were talking about attaching a barrel to our gutter. So I'm assuming you use a lot of pH up?

I use the silica from day 1 to harvest. It actually acts like a pH up, so you wouldn't have to fight against it so much like I do.

We collect about 1500 gallons and save it for times of drought in the summer for the gardens. You can go through it pretty quick so we fill up every time we can and need too. I can't recommend it enough if you can.

The light has been flipped to 12/12. This isn't the grow to get all detailed with the scrog etc while the pots are filled with random experiments and I'm impatient. It's more of a "let's get it over with" now.

I pulled the GG4 mutant and one volunteer. The runt getting dominated by the big one is struggling to even make it to the net. I'd like to get these harvested before the hot weather kicks in so I can veg the next run while shit gets swampy around here.
