The Viking's Tent of Buds and Beer

I cant be the only one that's had the itch to collect all the single bracts.. bit like a smokers' caviar. I've eaten those raw or mixed in a salad. I like them alot.

Got a little kiefpress, made this damn fine smelling ball of hash from the Strudel. It's 0.8gr collected with a trim tray.

Crazy amount of bus sides and a huuuge colas! Love it!
And back to the undead Purp. Day 75. A wonder she survived cause the soil has not dried out since last time and unfortunately gnats fkn love it. It's all roots in tray that kept her going. Put a layer of DE and a big ol sticky on top to mitigate the worst.
At least now I know how to keep em on life support if necessary when repotting is not an option.

Beautiful color, your grows are on point!
Holy grail, no wonder y got those big plants, looks as pure as hydro roots. Very impressive!
Final weigh in at prox. 8.56oz with 3oz of good thick buds. The other 5oz is a mix of mids and higher quality larf. Leftover 0.5oz is bottom of the bottom flacid larf that's in the smokejar.

Trim (no twigs or stems) is a guess at around 3.5oz compared to previous grows.
Beautiful harvest, hope the terp bags increase the quality, y may let us know!
Had different outcome with them but probably not the correct humidity to put them in.

Oh no never done that, heard that someone was smoking them but you're seem to be the real connisseur 🤪 🤩
How does they taste like and is it worth collecting or making kief and pressing to hash?
So, my experience with Apple Strudel to any who care. In summary:

Highly recommend this cultivar. Very easygoing with any type of training and had no signs of mold or fungi. Now i grew her in coco with an autopot so i dont know how she does in soil but it's probably worth it. If done 100% right i think you could get well over 10oz from just one.

She tastes the way she smells, very sour with sweet notes and just that dank that lingers after grinding. This one everyone here actually liked, smelled like candy. Is my favourite now as well.

A con would be her being quite fickle with lights and ec. She didnt appreciate any changes, but to see it as half full, she appreciates stability.
Sounds awesome, love fast buds work, they never disappoint.
Sour flavours, perfect!
Got some apple fritter left, though last time I grew(three different strains) one in the tent hermed and pollinated the whole tent...but not sure which one started...
Purp dried in 6 days and yielded an ounce of buds, no larf. Few but heavy buds. I actually expected her to yield way less.
Smelling good, can't explain it beside herbal vomit. Sour flowers. It's nice but weird, in a good way.

Last FastBud seeds are germing so I'm wondering if the quality holds up. Apple Fritter was originally also what i was going to get but Strudel hit closer to home ;p The NL's wont get as far cause they'll be going outside mid april, but that's why I got them. The Frostbangers got a better shot inside. Now on to learning how to do proper dry sift.

So with the purple haze, the flowers got purple and it shows in the buds. Only thing is they were dry in 6 days so they look like shit overall. Hope the cure compacts em a bit. My best looking harvests took ~11 days to dry.

The single bracts are very harsh to smoke. You'd say no leaves no heaves but this one made me cough up my soul. I'll go Galgrow's route and put some in a salad. Maybe decarb carefully first.
You could freeze and sift but it's too little to be worth it. It really is like caviar, spooning it into a joint, no grinding needed.

yo get a beneficial inocullant with a hefty ammount of BTI propagules (Bacillus Thuringiensis Var. Israelensis), big foot, great white etc. Use it every 2 weeks and be gone with fungus gnats, you can treat/pre soak the soil some days beforehand too.

happy growing brother!

i like to use a full spectrum beneficial combo...
but this product is a concentrated BTI only, very effective.
I've been looking for something like this but within europe. Can't seem to find proper BT products here, if you do look for it it's all natural products like nematodes n shit (which did nothing, for me at least) and some fkers are trying to capitalize on it by selling overpriced solutions. When i look at big nurseries here they are filled up with yellow stickies, never hear them about BT. Wonder if it's even a thing people know about around here.

Guess they will keep on their quality. It sometimes happens that we can't manage to germ them properly, even if they would do good...
Did another dry sift(shaker hash) yesterday and it was the best I made so far.
One of the smoothest, also enjoyable hash smoke I had!
Great outcome, stickiest kief, could form a small ball from it without heat or heavy pressure, guess that's necessary to get top notch quality.
I made dry trim, picked out the leaves by hand with gloves, vacuumed it(soft but almost no air in it) and directly deep froze it for 24h.
The Trichomes get crisps and fall off more easily. Never had temps above 20°C/ 68°f during the whole process, to prevent zero loss, ended up very terpy and suuper smooth!

One of the best pulls I had so far was some days ago and took 10days, always in the 60/60 zone, temps mostly a little lower.
Drying should be best at 10-13 days depends on bud size.

How do bracts taste like in a salad?🤔
I'd shook them off with the gloves during leave collection made hash out of them.
Not worth to decarb huh..?

Following your thread, unfortunately couldn't add you as friend, you may take that opportunity 😉

Got 2 dead seedlings out of 5, in context of soil half of em died and the only one in coco is doing just fine.

The NL popped, stayed in a weird bend and by morning she was all dried up and dead. The FB looks to have coiled up around itself underground.
Since it's been 5 days since germ I've put both the Banana Punch Autos on the wetmat to fill the space. May put both outside or 1 inside with the FB and 1 outside.

Been a while since seeds failing. Almost forgot it was a thing ;p

All rolling by slowly. Both bananas popped above ground, the others are doing well and seem to be growing around the same speed.
I've tried to break one NL, for science, but all these seedlings bend like rubber and didnt want to break. Had to turn it into a supercrop at the base. She shows 0 signs of stress and just chugs along. The white stuff is DE.

2,5 weeks into curing and I have to say the quality coming out of those Grovebags is way above my expectations. Crispy to the touch on the outside, still bouncy in the middle. Smell is incredible and the bags are slightly compressing the buds.
Pulled out an unexpectedly massive bud from the larf bag thinking :'not in this bag did i?' And it pulled apart into multiple smaller ones.
I do think it's important to have the 25% space free for the air exchange within the bags to get good results.

General comments on the Apple are 'smells like what weed should smell like when you think of weed.' And 'Where'd you get this candy weed?' Guess that's good. It's potently sweet for sure.

About 2 weeks passed. Good size leaves and sides starting to come up.

Bending seedlings at the base has done nothing, but I saw a thread come by mentioning micro pruning so I figured I might as well try because the Apple missed one of her starting leaves. It's been about 3 days and I think this is the trick I was looking for.
No stunters so soil seems to do it's thing. Been starting the tuck as well and I trimmed the 1st sides on all plants, leaving the rest. Also got some seaweed meal and epsom salt recently and top dressed it in there.

Getting the FB ready for the res, going to install and turn it on tomorrow. Looks to be a big one again. She really started gaining weight since yesterday.
As usual, no trim all tuck.

Bananas going smoothly.
