We do use a lot of garlic (I pickle it too), but I also give a lot away. I think last year I had over 250 bulbs, about the same or a little more this year. Garlic and onions are about the only things that do well in the winter, it's kinda "set it and forget it". I also have about 50 Italian torpedo onions growing. I plant them both in November and just let them go, fertilize once or twice, very little upkeep other than keeping the weeds pulled. If I keep it in cold storage it will last a year. Just in the garage about 7-9 months. You use all that garlic? I thought we went through alot. Wow.

I had to look that one up, I never heard of the them. From what I just read they are a triploid, hence the sterility.Didnβt even know these things existed! I guess they are big in East Coast reservoirs also! And SoCal and Bay Area reservoirs! Lightning trout or banana trout! Some kind of rainbow hybrid that is sterile! Planters only!View attachment 2622499
Nice chunk how many times did you wash it?Did a quick wash this morning! Pretty poor ROI! Be lucky if itβs 10 or 15 g!View attachment 2621585
Three! Itβs pretty small! But when youβre washing land, race yields can be pretty poor! Would probably do better if I knew what the fuck I was doing!Nice chunk how many times did you wash it?
All descended from one West Virginia mutant! I guess we are out of the loop in our old age!I had to look that one up, I never heard of the them. From what I just read they are a triploid, hence the sterility.
"The Palomino trout or the Oncorhynchus mykiss are the results of Rainbow trout cross-breeding with West Virginia Golden trout (not to be confused with the California native Golden Trout). It is stated by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat commissions: βThe golden rainbow trout originated from a single rainbow trout that was spawned in the fall of 1954 in West Virginia. The troutβs body color was a chimera of golden and normally pigmented tissue. When this fish was crossed with a normally pigmented rainbow trout, the offspring (what we have come to refer to as palomino rainbow trout) were lighter in color.β
"It is argued that palomino and golden rainbow trout are two different fish in some circles. Some say the palomino is lighter in color than the golden rainbow trout or just not as healthy looking. Depending on where you are in the United States you may hear them also being called βlightning trout.β I have even heard people refer to them as βbanana trout.β But no matter the name of or the location, they are all technically just a product of a fish hatchery rainbow trout."
As if I would even know it's a triploid, not all are pretty yellow banana looking. All descended from one West Virginia mutant! I guess we are out of the loop in our old age!Iβve grown a triploid plant! Kind of tempting to go try and find a triploid trout! Nah! too lazy!
