There's three growths at a node. The stipule thorn or claw, the auxiliary bud/branch that looks like a new top ready to grow any time, and the pre flower - not present early on and sometimes late. Just above that aux bud/branch is where a calyx or sac will show up once it matures. When I'm staring at a plant with just the aux bud/branch and otherwise bare, that raises my flags as the potential male.

But we should find metal objects that are much older than the ones archeology is finding, no? I mean the find dinosaur turds tand they are 65 million years old, but not a trace of a, you know, tool? A machine out of metal or something.
Metal oxidizes over time and we talk about before the rebuild of the pyramides.

You've probably heard this... The problem with Earth's geology is the crust moves like a conveyor belt, it all winds up in a melting pot through subduction and then gets spit back up through volcanism. There are pockets that have gone unscathed where we find fossils tens of millions of years old but most of Earths ancient history has been lost to the mechanism of plate tectonics. For all we know, we could be the 10th iteration of an intelligent species inhabiting the planet.

Never mind
I's just me being eager to get some plants out of my closet to get some room, so i want it to be a male too much.
I'll give it time to show sex properly.

It probably is, but it's not providing any concrete proof yet. But even a late coming female might not be your most desirable plant to run because of the hormonal delay. The ones that piss me off is the males coming in all nice and bushy and you start licking your lips for it and then it throws balls at ya. That's probably something we havent chatted enough about here, sorting your culls from your keepers.

I'm sure this has been shared here before but still funny AF.

The most blood curdling scream I ever woke up to was when I was in the reserves and some asshole decided to wake the whole camp up at 6am with a whistle that made a human sounding scream like somebody was being murdered. 🤣

I agree except it's only 7 days in flower. I wouldn't call that late coming.

I lived relative close to a zoo.
The only animal i could hear when the wind direction was right, was the donkeys.
The males i guess.

@Florida_Mike, you have grown out the cali blues, do you think it would finish outdoors in Mich? I usually only grow 7-8 week varieties, but can make an exception. We never really know how long the season will be, but usually beginning through middle of Oct. we get bad weather. (cold, rainy)
We will find out sir.....I'm putting it out in North East Ohio...I grew it inside.....18 weeks total. Good luck

Sorry, really can't help with the outdoor. I can tell you, that they were slow to start flowering after flip to 12/12, but finished up very quickly. They went 72 days of 12/12. Ended up with 2 - 27 gal totes (stems still on curing). Dried a little fast in 7 days at 55-60% rh (best I could manage). Very good even uncured. Sticky-icky, blueberry. 1/2 a J knocks me out and I'm a very heavy smoker 😴😆
Love the Cali Blue.....thanks @Captspaulding

But how did the pyramids survive? Or the Easter island statues, and dinosaur bones? I'm not smart enough to debate you but it doesn't make any sense to me that we don't find any objects like a toothbrush or whatever but we find the structures.
