I’ve got them in 2 & 26 gram sizes. Makes rosin work a lot cleaner

The kit I bought came with six of the glass ones, so that’s what I’ve been using for now. There’s definitely a dab that gets lost to the glass without making extra effort

As far as returns go, my first couple presses I did of my own flower were all around 10%, but the weed was 4-6 months old.

I got a free eighth from dispo just to test the waters, and pulled 1 gram off the 3.5 for a 30% return.

Yeah the little containers (even the bigger ones) you can squeeze together and strip the rosin off the tool better!

Dont forget we are pressing rosin not smashing rosin. Slow steady pressure build up allows the rosin to flow and be squeezed out to the edges of the puck.

This was something that greatly improved my overall yield and end quality. Can really taste the whole thing, if you will, once you smoke it.

These hot knife products are great for anyone that dabs a lot. Not much help with collection but great for getting a dab out of the jar.

Thinking about it I havent charged it in a couple months of owning it. I dont use it a ton so I havent really put it to the test but it seems to have decent battery life. You only hold the button for 2-3 seconds and the rosin slides right off. Theres other brands out there and Im pretty terrible about shopping around before buying new toys so there might by better options out there.

@jadins_journey whats an average return when pressing I’m getting about 10percent depending on strain little less on some but is that about the norm ?

For me to get passed the 10-11% yield I had to look at the flower going in. More importantly the moisture content. Next time you press give this little trick a try.

Cover and let sit overnight. You’ll go from 10 to 15%

Snow x Purple Hindu Kush that I chopped last Sunday.

Pressed 4 grams each of two different phenos, both at 200° in a 120u bag

15% return off one 10% off the other.

Funny enough the better color came with the smaller yield, need to keep pressing these with different adjustments.

Almost always lower temps and lower pressure equal better color. Those dont look bad tho just a little dark. I say you did a good job. If you can wait to consume it put in the fridge for a few weeks.

Dude! Thats a great return as far as im concerned : ) 4g isnt that much to press. Awesome job!

Im with Gas on the lower temps. But also I was playing around with the 220* temp. It felt more comfortable to lower the temp and press for longer if that makes sense : )

I was pressing at 180, but upped it 200 after watching several nug smasher videos and seeing the yield difference when he was doing comparisons.

I’ll definitely go lower and give it a shot to see the color and yield difference!

Yeah I figured I’d do some smaller presses til I found something I was happy with before pressing too much.

Pressure too. But yeah we lose quantity for quality. Again those jars looked pretty good at 200 so.... Ive found that the consistency changes around 180. Less sticky more budder almost sugar sometimes. Less yield tho for sure.

EDIT: To clarify "lower pressure" I mean throughout the press but still finish at your "full pressure"

So there is a direct correlation between pressure/temperature and yield. Not heard much talk about micron size though. Effects quantity and quality as well. All very valid points I might add.
Seems the most prudent approach would be to decide the end use and work backwards. A
Anywho, that’s today’s stoner thoughts

So first press is low temp to get the good stuff, and then higher temp and pressure to get the rest?
I know absolutely nothing about pressing just wondering.

I tried it, found better results washing with Everclear after 1 press
