Ice Cream Cake. The cat occasionally goes into the screenhouse and if the buds are sticky, some of his fur winds up stuck to the buds. This is my point about summer and winter. A summer run the ice cream cake will throw coke can size colas and in a winter run they'll be the size of a Big Stick when I chop.

One of the things moving forward I'll be looking at is strategies for keeping the pots warmer at night.

I knew a guy that got busted growing over 50 plants in Shenandoah National Forest. Sentenced to 10 years in prison and i think he served 6 before getting out. This was in the early 90s. Hate that he got busted, his weed was the best around back in the day.

I had a friend identify which one of my three cats got into the mandarin cookies that I grew 🤣 she pulled out a long hair and puts it down and says ohh hey Milo, thanks but no thanks. 🤣

No but my mom swears that the best pot she ever smoked was from Hawaii and was simply called “Flowers” same timeframe mid 70’s . Anyone ever heard of a Hawaiian strain called Flowers? Asking for my mom 🤣

It was brought North by the pound, not the ton. The circles I was running with in So Cal were going the opposite direction. The killer weed came from up North and we just used to call it Humboldt. There were also local growers out at the Rincon Indian reservation, people around town in Valley Center and further up the hill on Palomar Mountain who were all growing dank local weed around the same period and it was all about who you knew and it only lasted as long as it took for cops to eventually raid them.... Then it was months of weed drought when somebody got shut down. Good times...

Such a strange dynamic to listen to stories like that and then fast forward to now it’s still not 100% free and clear back to the people not the government but for the most part improved greatly. I think back ten years ago, when I needed weed I had one option, hopefully. Meaning that it wasn’t a dry spell. Today I have so many options at dispensaries and seed companies it’s overwhelming at times. I know it’s not like that everywhere but it’s still something that makes you think 🤔

I took a long break from cannabis and came back when the medical program started. While it was getting ready I was using the app weedmaps which was a whole lot different back then.
Now when the price got so high (hehe ) I grow my own. If I could just get passed the 5 months to grow 3 months of weed thing Id be good.

I never did. I was there a couple times 81 and 83 but only for short stints each time. My buddy Larry was from there and his brother was a "grower" near Hilo so we had lots of access to what his brother grew and I was told it was Gold. I presume it was Kona Gold (high high high) Lots of time w/cooks outs on the beach, diving, smokin and hackey sack but I've never heard of "Flowers".

I didn't return to partaking until around 2017. In 2016 I was driving by this commercial bakery by the office that always had a nice baking cinnamon smell in the air and there were these two dudes in the parking lot of the bakery holding a sign that said "COOKIES - SALE ---->" So I pulled into the parking lot and they directed me to drive out to the back. Once over there, a security guard came over to my car. I asked where I should park for the cookies, he directed me where to park, and there was a separate suite in that building that wasn't the bakery (I still hadn't caught on yet). There was a sign above the entrance that said COOKIES. So I walked in and instantly got hit with the unmistakable and overwhelming odor of weed. There was a menu on the wall and a guy behind a glass partition who greeted me and all I could think to say was "oh you guys don't sell just regular cookies here, do you?" 🤣🤣🤣 This was before the recreational use had gone into full effect. I didn't have a rec yet, wouldn't have been able to buy anything if I wanted to.

I think the girls with it must’ve made up the name, who knows. I occasionally throw the name out there, seeing if anybody else has heard of it. It’d be cool to know more about it and share some with my mom. She probably wouldn’t smoke it though. Lol one of these days peer pressure will get her to hit a joint 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Trying and mastering new techniques or finding out what doesn’t work are all part of the game. It’s fun to run different methods too. I have yet to try mainlining, but have done a few 45 degree leans on my plants, which usually cause the branches to grow towards the light similar to a mainline but it’s definitely not the same. I also haven’t messed with hydro but probably have enough of the equipment to start tomorrow. My biggest issue is limited space. Here is one of the leaned back 45 degree plants in its pot around the other plants that just got low stress training.

You can see all the growth curls around the main stalk to get it’s own light, and lower buds are as dense as upper buds

Ya the other day in my journal I was listing all the milestone techniques new growers try. Knocked out a bunch and learned a lot of what not to do and when to do other stuff. Still want to try the 18/12 cycle and thinking with the veg to flower overlap I could leave one in there for 3 weeks to see what it did.
