Hey everyone,

I recieved an invite to join the site and wanted to introduce myself. I've enjoyed growing cannabis throughout my life. I mainly work with genetics that were kept close to their origins that still carry real depth, resilience, and consistent effects that unfortunately have largely slipped away over the past decades.

I see a lot of experienced growers here, and for the people that care about quality over hype, that is where the focus is for me too. I look forward to meeting people that understand that difference.

Hi @cpurola,
Yes. I have a selection of Afghan genetics which are robust have strong natural resistance.
Septoria is a serious challenge. Common to warm and wet climates. The Afghan type of genetics you want to grow are not a good match for wet environments, they have adapted for dry climates. They are robust plants that can thrive in many environments, but better match would be a more tropical adapted plant for warm and wet conditions. I have a range of cannabis, and will be able to help you.
Unfortunately no particular genetic will solve the Septoria problem alone. The spores on the soil, in the enviornment, in the mulch and top layers, and you will need preventative measures to stop it from infecting your plants. Spraying fungicides, gathering and removing the debris from the top of the soil, or possibly moving the grow site to a completely different area. Impact on healthy plants is less than plants that stressed or struggling.
I would be happy to recommend some cultivars with high degree of natural resistance to pathogens, vigorous growth, that would give the best chance, but they are not a full solution to Septoria alone. They would need your care and support to achieve the best outcome. Teamwork is key to beating Septoria in environments where Septoria thrives.
If you have not already, research Septoria and cannabis and make a plan and get prepared. If needed make a topic here and draw on the collective knowledge of the community that may be able to share their own methods and experience. This will help you decide if an Afghan type is a possibility or if a more tropical variety has a better chance. Or you could try a few different varieties with distinct characteristics and see which thrives best for you.

Thanks for your thoughtful and through answer and I agree. After battling Septoria the last 2 years I have since decided to rely on Autos for medicine and photos for fun. Just thought I'd ask.

I lost most to Septoria, but was able to harvest a few branches here and there after the weather turned cool and the fungus' stopped spreading.

I see patterns. I can understand why the polyhybrids would likely fail, they are geared towards commercial growing conditions and often lack the resilience and natural resistance. Then you have the mostly indica leaning growth habbit on a few. It seems like you are describing a tropical environment.
Have you tried a tropical adapted plant? Or is that on your list of successful types? Have you had any fully successful against Septoria? What practices as far as land management or fungicides are you actively using?

@cpurola this is the "company" @Jaden was DMing people about after complaining about polyhybrids everywhere. If I recall correctly, there's no website and it's a burner email. I still can't find anything legitimate.

I agree, seems kinda sketchy. And 220$ for 10 regular seeds without recommendations from someone i trust. No thanks

I prefer the Indicas for their sedative properties, therefore no to the Sativas. And I grow organically and have built up an army of beneficials to help with the pests so I avoided spraying too much. This year I fully intend to spray, often, bio-fungicides and if things get bad, the sulfur and copper sprays as well. So, we'll see what happens.
