Hey everyone,

I recieved an invite to join the site and wanted to introduce myself. I've enjoyed growing cannabis throughout my life. I mainly work with genetics that were kept close to their origins that still carry real depth, resilience, and consistent effects that unfortunately have largely slipped away over the past decades.

I see a lot of experienced growers here, and for the people that care about quality over hype, that is where the focus is for me too. I look forward to meeting people that understand that difference.

Looking forward to being a part of the community.

Hi, I'm looking for Afghan genetics that can survive outdoors and is resistant to Septoria. Do you have anything like that?
Hi @cpurola,
Yes. I have a selection of Afghan genetics which are robust have strong natural resistance.
Septoria is a serious challenge. Common to warm and wet climates. The Afghan type of genetics you want to grow are not a good match for wet environments, they have adapted for dry climates. They are robust plants that can thrive in many environments, but better match would be a more tropical adapted plant for warm and wet conditions. I have a range of cannabis, and will be able to help you.
Unfortunately no particular genetic will solve the Septoria problem alone. The spores on the soil, in the enviornment, in the mulch and top layers, and you will need preventative measures to stop it from infecting your plants. Spraying fungicides, gathering and removing the debris from the top of the soil, or possibly moving the grow site to a completely different area. Impact on healthy plants is less than plants that stressed or struggling.
I would be happy to recommend some cultivars with high degree of natural resistance to pathogens, vigorous growth, that would give the best chance, but they are not a full solution to Septoria alone. They would need your care and support to achieve the best outcome. Teamwork is key to beating Septoria in environments where Septoria thrives.
If you have not already, research Septoria and cannabis and make a plan and get prepared. If needed make a topic here and draw on the collective knowledge of the community that may be able to share their own methods and experience. This will help you decide if an Afghan type is a possibility or if a more tropical variety has a better chance. Or you could try a few different varieties with distinct characteristics and see which thrives best for you.
Please DM me with some details of your grow site, any past grows good or bad, your goals, and I will be happy to discuss what options will be most likely to bring you success.

Thank you for your interest.

Sounds like you’re still fucked,Cpurrrr!😆 no harm in trying, though! You go girl!😍 That pretty much sums it up! Was a good explanation!

Thanks for your thoughtful and through answer and I agree. After battling Septoria the last 2 years I have since decided to rely on Autos for medicine and photos for fun. Just thought I'd ask. 🫤

What genetics have you tried and failed with and where are they from?

Thank you, that is Interesting!
I see patterns. I can understand why the polyhybrids would likely fail, they are geared towards commercial growing conditions and often lack the resilience and natural resistance. Then you have the mostly indica leaning growth habbit on a few. It seems like you are describing a tropical environment.
Have you tried a tropical adapted plant? Or is that on your list of successful types? Have you had any fully successful against Septoria? What practices as far as land management or fungicides are you actively using?

@cpurola this is the "company" @Jaden was DMing people about after complaining about polyhybrids everywhere. If I recall correctly, there's no website and it's a burner email. I still can't find anything legitimate.

I got a DM from another farmer because they thought it felt predatory.

Good info.

I agree, seems kinda sketchy. And 220$ for 10 regular seeds without recommendations from someone i trust. No thanks

I prefer the Indicas for their sedative properties, therefore no to the Sativas. And I grow organically and have built up an army of beneficials to help with the pests so I avoided spraying too much. This year I fully intend to spray, often, bio-fungicides and if things get bad, the sulfur and copper sprays as well. So, we'll see what happens.
Thank you for your info. but I will not be purchasing any more seeds until I see how this years outdoor turns out.

How long have you been in business and do you have a website? Do you have pics of your plants?

I understand people should use some caution in all interactions, and that's fair.
However, if you have genuine evidence regarding my legitimacy, the proper place for that is in the Classifieds Feedback or Scam Report section. Dropping serious accusations here in my introduction thread like calling my work "predatory," claiming a burner email, and questioning my legitimacy is not very constructive. Those kinds of statements carry real weight and can damage someone's reputation in the community. If the concerns are serious, it would be better to back them up with clear details and evidence in the appropriate forum rather than speculating publicly here.
I'm more than happy to talk genetics, pest management, or offer any advice I can from my experience with various lines right here or in DMs. My focus is simply sharing info on these plants with those who appreciate them.
Let's keep the thread productive.

i understand what you mean by preference for sedative properties. More recent findings of botanical and genetic research indicate that the physical form of cannabis does not correlate to the chemical effects it produces. To say Indica is sedative and Sativa is stimulating is a reduced generalization that has been disproven. A wide range of chemistry and chemical effects can be inside wide leaf and narrow leaf types. One type of morphology is not locked into certain effects that it produces. There are even people pushing to drop the old and unreliable terms indica and sativa in favor of the technical classification Cannabis sativa L. for all cannabis regardless of its morphology. I agree with this usage. Much more accurate. If you noticed I avoided using those terms in my comments. I can also add I have a Afghan landrace cultivar that is very mentally stimulating, not mentally sedative. It is quite an intense experience. Very unique. It has its specific uses, a good tool to treat certain symptoms.
Well, darn! I was hoping to bait you into DM conversation. I have not received or sent a single DM message outside of getting the standard welcome message.
You have tenacity. I like that. With your determination I suspect you will come out a winner agsinst Septoria. I agree you don't need more genetics... you tried a lot already. The real problem is the Septoria and environment. Concentrate your efforts there is the best plan. Lets keep in touch because I have a temperate climate here and am unfamiliar with your particular problem. Learning from your experience would be beneficial.
Wishing you strength and success in your battle against environment and fungus!
