If you eat a plum, peach, or cherry (I think a bunch of other stone fruits too) you need to trick the seed into thinking it spent winter in the soil (cold stratification) to increase germination rate.
I'm going to test it out. The seeds rarely grow a similar fruit to the mother (too bad, the batch of white peaches was insanely sweet and juicy 🀩).
Step 1: eat the fruit and split the pit. A pliers is perfect for this. The peach and the plum look a lot like almonds.

Next soak them for a couple hours and put them in a damp paper towel in the fridge for 3 months. I have a couple more plums, peaches, and about 2lbs of cherries to eat before I start the cold stratification 🀣.

This guy makes me want to add a turtle to my grow:

Yeah, almonds, and all of those stone fruits are very closely related! And they are all fruit! An almond tree is a fruit tree! Kind of weird!

Really cool! Can you eat the fruit of an almond? Or I guess a better question would be, would you want to eat them? 🀣
I know a cashew grows on the top of an apple, but the apple is poisonous!

I don’t think you can! You can only eat the pit! I’ll have to Google cashews! There really isn’t much flesh on almonds! If you want to get confused, look up,Drupes!πŸ˜πŸ’

Here it is next to a black plum pit. Let them dry overnight to make it easier. You can see a seem along the side of the stone. I snip that and use a vise grips like a nut cracker.

Now that's a rabbit hole.
Seems like if we only eat the seed (walnuts, almonds, pecans) of a drupe instead of the fruit (peaches, plums, cherries) we just call them a nut!
I want to eat a plum seed now πŸ˜…. Hope my germ rates are high

You have to watch out for a lot of those pits! Some of them contain cyanide! Lol! But not enough to kill you! Put on a little cyanide buzz!😁

Damn it. You're right again chucky. Peach and plum pits contain amygdalin. Converts to cyanide in your belly.
Im pretty sure I put this disclaimer earlier somewhere:
Kids, don't try this at home

I was eating some cherries and one had an abnormally large pit. Crack it, and look at this:
Is this a double embryo or just a massive seed?

Next to a couple also cracked right after eating. For comparison.

I have some cannabis updates coming as well. Not just eating drupes and cracking stones 🀣

That grow room is cool has🐒😎 the flowers that hes growing look chronic to. It Would Be awesome to build a grow room like that. You could have Have multiple turtlesπŸ˜†

That jumbo cherry seed was really two seeds. Polyembryony πŸ€“.
I soaked all of the seeds and put them in bags with damp paper towel. They like a nice cold winter before sprouting, so we'll just pretend and stick them in the back of the fridge.

I don’t know how old you are, but do you think you will live long enough to pull any cherries or peaches from a tree from seed?πŸ˜† I know! Only one way to find out!

Turtle sanctuary πŸ˜‚. I should adopt some old ones. Them box turtles can live 100 years if they stay out of trouble. People get them as pets and don't think about what's going to happen in 50 years.
I’ve delivered to this place maybe 15 years ago! You can check out their website if you want! I imagine they vet you pretty good before they cut one loose! They gave me a little tour while I was there! Kind of interesting!

I love this. It's definitely needed.
I just checked the adoption form. I have lots of work to do before I start πŸ˜….
