J S E,
I was thinking the same thing. I'm gonna hit home depot manana and see whats up.

dude i used bed sheets. lol. and a white comforter.

cuz im bbbbbroke as a joke and its better than exposed black insulation, in my case.

lol yup it should do the trick how many you plan on popin man?

So here we go. Can't wait to get the cabinet put in so i can put the ebb in there. All popped and hopefully all will do just peachy. As you can see my soil expedition is doing quit nice. Unfortunately my cat bit a leaf off the other and i said "F IT" and pulled it. Wasn't doing good anyways. My clones are finally coming around after stressing for a week. Do clones start like that for anyone else in waterfarm pots? Happened to me in my last 2 grows.
Question
I'm watering this system the same as my other ebb. 4 times a day for 30 minutes. My lights will be on 24/7. Is this right?

Question, criticism, and disses are wanted.
Peace

hell yeah i like that little table with the rockwools, i was thinking about trying something like that in an extra room i have upstairs little flood and drain so i can get my hydro feet wet...

i might be wrong but i think you can flood rockwool for less time like 10 mins 15 mins cuz its got much more water holding capacity ya know? might look into it though before you try anything, like i just said, never done hydro.

yeah soil is pretty forgiving, gotta keep them pests away indoors if you can, i have little yellow hairs on my buds from my puppy yellow lab getting into my room for just a minute and getting hit by some fan air. plus they carry other pests too. like mites. FUUUUCK MITES, if you havent yet, i would start treating with some kind of pest control/defense. if you do it now you probably wont have a problem, but once you get it they will never go away. i can beat em back for a couple days but they are fuckin relentless. BIGGEST headache for me so far. so really take your time now and your grow will go much smoother IMO. makes it easier to diagnose feeding problems when you dont already have pest damage to look past.

what kind of soil is that your using?

that plant looks HEALTHY, wish mine would bush out like that. what strain is that? EDIT: Strawberry cough. (good smoke) sorry i scanned through the thread but didnt see it at first.

Might have to try and grow that next. i like.

Jake,
That system actually cost me about $60 bucks to build.(the pump being the most expensive). Yea it pisses me off cause i spend so much time caring for my hydro, and the cheap soil plant is taking off like no other. But yea, as far as watering i figured i start with this and once they sprout back off gradually on the watering time. But i will say after 1 day they're already poking out of the rock wool so, so far money well spent.

Oh yea, I'm using FFOF with a little bit of hydroton at the bottom.(I had extra so i figured what the hell)

ONCE YOU SMOKE A HYDRO SACK, YOU'LL NEVER GO BACK

Success. 3 seeds 3 sprouts. Now only 6 more months till i can smoke them.

So here's the deal. I think posting pics while plants are vegging are boring so after today i won't post until i flip these 3. Bugs have plagued me. Species after species. I've finally got my room pest free (for now) so i'll post these. My 2 hydro plants are really starting to take off and my organic soil is doing fa getta bout it good.
I recently went on craigslist and saw a guy selling 2 1000 watt systems for $200. I met the guy expecting crap. This dude had lumitek ballasts and brand new bulbs in the lamps. The reflectors aren't cooled so hopefully in a couple weeks (when my outdoors done) I'll get some air cooled hoods. What a tweaker this guy was.
Anyways I'm gonna split my room in half and run 5 plants on one side and 5 on the other (last pic).
My seedlings are finally doing good to seeing how they were covered in thrips.
I also like to say when i grow under the 1000watts I'm going organic. I am now a convert. Soil rocks.
See ya in a couple weeks.:banana1sv6:

I've decided that the one and only downfall to growing, and i mean extremely minimal downfall, is waiting for my ladies to grow. I just wanna start budding but i have to wait to get a good harvest cycle going. My roommate talked me into making these plants moms, meaning i have to wait another 2 months before i can flip these girls.. I agreed only because I'm still drawing plans up to split my room in half. Can't decide to make an insulated wall or a wood frame to block the light with panda film mostly because i'm renting.

I'm having problems growing so close to the beach though. Humidity is constantly 75% without my dehumid running. Bugs are outrageous. Inch worms, white flies, thrips. And some crazy beetles i can't find on the internet. Plants are healthy but the bugs are pissing me off.

Next update i will have my 2 1000watts cooking, hopefully. See you in 2 weeks.

hell yeah those are bushy as hell, way to go. id worry more about the high humidity once they start forming buds and stuff. i think they like a little high humidity in veg to my understanding... regardless they are definitely looking healthy.

So here we are. 1st day of flowering finally(actually 3rd day but as far as feeding goes 1st). As far as the strains go I think i got the cuts mixed up cause I'm pretty sure the first pics Blue Cheese and the seconds romulan berry. Check out the inline fan i picked up from my buddy. Loving it. Definitely need more intake though. My moms are still cooking in the ebb but I think they'll be ready in a couple weeks. g13xhaze on right, Super Lemon haze on the left and then vanilla kush in the back. New sprouts are citral skunk and LSD. The last pic is the strain I'm really excited about. I've heard good things about afwreck so can't wait for this one to finish. Definitely a personal stash. And it's ORGANIC.

When these finish I'm stashing the hydro pots and going organic. I'm think of putting my 1000 watt in the closet with 12 plants underneath to get a nice little cycle going.

Question: In my ebb, I'm using the same strength nutes for both moms and seedlings. The seeds are still sprouting but will this hurt them in the long run?
