Instead of adding another light (and this isn't a "now" suggestion as much as an "in the future" suggestion), maybe sub out the cooltubes and get some different (better) reflectors?

Cooltubes are great for cooling lights, but suck balls as actual reflectors...........get a couple of Magnums (or any legit reflector) in there - just my $.02.

Yeah bro, just took another look at your pics - looking healthy and nice, but with two legit reflectors that'll look righteous :)

And contrary to what you said, I hope that you are unprepared for all the nugs you're gonna get outta your stadium room :)

I have 2 reflectors, but the height profile will be very limiting. not to mention the heat issues.

SFzoo, I've got the 'noids about root aphids because I was hit this last run with them. Even though they're eradicated, they SERIOUSLY impacted yield. Fortunately, my samples are good quality.

Here you did all that clean-up work, then you went and Txplanted them, they're gonna explode on ya!

i don't document my nute regimen, it doesn't fluctuate much...but here is a little snapshot of what they've been eating.

Veg: they were started at a low ppm but maxed out at
7ml CalMag+
3ml SilicaBlast
10ml Canna A&B
1ml Roots Excel
5-8ml of Rhizo
10ml Cannazyme(ran it every other res fill, about once every 2-3 feedings)
1ml Dripclean(1ml/2.5gal)

~1550ppms
5.7-5.9pH, usually 5.8

At transition:
7ml CalMag+
8ml A&B
1ml Roots
10ml Rhizo
10ml Cannazyme (zym and rhizo all through stretch)
1ml Dripclean(1ml/2.5gal)

Bloom: will be similar to veg save the silica and roots
5ml Calmag+
10ml A&B
5ml Rhizo(not every feeding, but maybe every other)
10ml Cannazye(once a week)
1ml DripClean(1ml/2.5gal)
7ml PK 13/14 (weeks 3,5,7 - although i'm considering adding it straight through week 5-8. not sure yet)

Nice NF/stadium grow. You've got a lot more foilage for the second run so you're yields should go up. I like that you tightend up th shelves with only a 2" overlap I think that'll be a good call come harvest.

Have you ready the defoliation thread over at IC, you might benefit from it if they start to block one another.

I used to run the full Canna line with Canna coco, then went to FNB, then Maxi, they all work I found Canna to be pricey but as good as any. The full H&G line is pretty awesome too. I can't believe you top out at 1500 in veg, I'm a conservative feeder I'm rarely over 800 and do fine.

Good stuff man I'll be hanging around.

SFZoo, you don't keep a log??? I learned my best log-keeping skills at Long Beach Aquarium (worked the coral lab QT, as well as the display areas).

As for the root aphids, I didn't document it, but did a good bit of reading and ultimately landed with Spectracide (triazicide) after trying the Bayer Tree & Shrub for two reasons; it can be used as a root drench whereas the B T&S cannot, and the triazicide has a much shorter window to harvest than the B T&S (imidacloprid remains in plant tissues for 60 days, when you've already flipped that's a hell of a clock to set, ya know?).

If you haven't got the yellow sticky traps to monitor, you might want to go ahead. They don't have to be stuck in the pots, either. I've got some tacked to the flowering room walls, just at pot height, as well as hung in different positions.

I have read that defoliation thread, but it is quite long. I'll be plucking here and there to get light into the budsites. Not too heavy though.

I'm eager to try out the H&G line. Next round i may do a side by side..i have a few bottles of the H&G cocos.

Top out at 1500 in veg due to the various strains. DripClean has allowed me to max out the ppms for the heavy feeders while keeping the light feeders from burning. One solution, 4 strains....although the deadhead seems to be keeping on the lighter side of green, even with 2x the dose of calmag.

You know, it is a good idea to keep a log, i just rarely change anything after the stretch..and prior to, i'm all over the place trying to correct minor deficiencies and what not.
Has your logs served you any real benefit?

The spectracide is good stuff, basically a strong contact killer that hangs around a bit. Used in conjunction with a systemic like Bayer or Merit which both contain Imid it works even better. The plants don't seem to mind these products at all, in case your concerned. Another good contact killer is Sevin, rotate this with the Spectracide so the bugs don't build up any immunity and your golden. These will control 99% of medium dwelling bugs, not just aphids. All three can be purchased at Home Depot or Lowes. Treat up untill one week into flower.

Sevin is a good damn product for these plants. Doesnt really stick around in the plant and is used on food crops worldwide.

I can only recommend (and not very highly at this point) using the imidacloprid while the plants are vegging. It starts a clock that you must adhere to--a 60 day window during which the imid remains in plant tissues. I personally find that to be a huge pain in the ass, especially since I didn't figure it out til they were almost a month into flowering. And so, I ended up flooding with Spectracide (serious root drench) and that did the trick. Even better, it allows a much tighter harvest window. While I went with 21 days, I ended up allowing more than 45 specifically because I had already treated 2x with the Bayer T&S imid.

I looked at the liquid Sevin, but since it couldn't be used as a root drench I decided against it.

Go with Spectracide. Active ingredient is triazicide, works more effectively than imidacloprid, can be used as root drench, and allows a tighter harvest window, so it can be used relatively late in flower. This is my best recommendation should you actually be dealing with root aphids. I've had such problems year after year with fungus gnats that I'll probably be using that to eradicate again, those little fuckers killed all my houseplants! (Maybe those were root aphids in the house, too... shiiiiiiit... I never considered that before.)

wk 3 has just begun, budsites are developing and the show is just about to start.
I'm goin to hit them w/ the Canna PK 13/14 this week. I'm thinking of adding MOAB to the regimen, but i really like the simplicity of the Canna line..


Tent update:
I'm searching for a new light/ballast setup. I'm really hoping to get a 3rd tube in there to even out the light.

I've got one brand new bulb and one older one, its is clear that the older one is lacking lumens..

I was unable to make it to the garden, so my buddy fed them for me, i came back to them being nearly 4" above the netting..

Options to deal w/ the size of these girls:
-autofeed, drip or blumats. This would be ideal, but i'm worried about implementing a system in which i'm not familiar with maintainence or trouble shooting.
-stakes. this is the easiest route to take. it will still be rather involved as i'll need a few per plant. watering will be made more difficult when trying to weave in and out of the stakes.
-yoyos. an option, but i'm not too sold on buying a ton of these.
-twine and chicken wire. this is an easy option, and will be relatively effective. problem is with watering, same as the stakes. It will be a pain.
-let them go. not a real option, but if i prune properly i think it could work.

Will be burning sulfur mid week 3, and maybe again mid week 4.

my lights are really close to the bottom row of plants, nearly 6" from the bulbs. In the last pic, you can see a light source just below the scrubber - that's a bulb, and you can see how close the left side is to it, the right is a bit further due to the placement of the entrance door.

no lux readings, but temps are cool..around 69f during lights on, around 59f during lights off.

there IS a localized humidity issue with the girls right under the bulb, but i'm not sure if its the bulbs or the box fan blowing across the floor level. Either way, its minor.
